Annie Potts was my favorite Janine, but Laura is absolutely stellar and truthfully, she's the Brooklyn Janine I remember at age 6.

Yeah Laura did a great job. I can't separate the TV Janine from Laura's voice. She is sweeter in the show too.

I agree with Nebulafiend. I didn't like the other Janine's that followed Janine with the Brooklyn accent. For me, that Janine was the best and Laura Summer was also the best Janine voice.

After Season 2, the producers felt that Summer's characterization of Janine was too loud and abrasive, and replaced her with Kath Soucie (sp?), figuring that her voice would make the character more "feminine".

Utterly ridiculous decision regarding Janine, I always thought. I was in the age-group the producers felt were "put off" the established Janine and would respond better to the new Janine.

They were wrong.
