Something I would like to know -- WHY is Miss United States Virgin Islands in this pageant? The residents of the Virgin Islands do not even VOTE in the political process in the United States, to my knowledge.
When you have a championship horse show, you show many breeds! They all have their beautiful examples within each breed so why should women be any different. They are all so gooooooooooooooooooogoooooooooooood!!!
Why is it that there always has to be someone throwing in the "race" card?! Obviously these ARE the most beautiful women in america - first each county votes and then each state and THEN the top 50 get to Miss America. And furthermore, it is not only about beauty but also brains and talent. Lose the chip on your shoulder, people!
I guess you have to be white and blonde to win this pageant... Where are the multi culture women that this country represents? When will we see the next miss america with a hispanic or asian heritage?
dude its miss America, asians win in asian countries, hispanics win in hispanic countries, you dont see us complain that a white girl never wins in Japan or Africe or someting
To be fair, the 2003 Miss America pageant had four African-American ladies make the top ten. The winner and fourth runner up were both black and that was four years ago. That winner went on to crown the 2004 Miss America who was also African-American. I believe the racist regime has officially left the MAO. Don't quote me ...
I watched it and I am disappointed that there were not more African American women representing. It seems like we as a society associate beauty with white or blonde and that is simply not true. The pageant in my opinion was shameful and quite racist.
Great show MAO. I have been your worst critic since 2001. This year's pageant was absolutely wonderful. Very entertaining and relevant. Michigan's Kirsten Haglund really stood out the whole night. I wonder why the reality check show did not even show her. That baby blue gown she wore for talent was so Jackie Kennedy. I thought she maintained her traditional pageant look and demeanor unlike the other contestants that's why she looked the part to the judges.

What does race have to do with beauty?

There is a Miss Black America pageant which racially excludes other ethnicities. So don't even try to pull that "racist" bullshit.
White women are more beautiful and they're going to win more beauty contests. Deal with it and quit hating.
