  • Wow that was a great perfomance! Thank you, it touched deep in the heart.

Thats the main message of this Tragedy, let us see and watch with heart, and not allways with cold and proud head.

    Thank you!

  • Bravo! Bravo! I'm going to watch it again!

  • Thank you Greece !

  • omg this is sooo borring. my teacher told my class to watch this. i swear im the only one who did. -_- waste of time.

  • @claireclaire223 Not many people are capable of understanding the value of Greek Ancient Tragedies and of course their messages for a descent way of life style. Humanity, respect to the sacred laws, wisdom, dignity etc etc etc... maybe you also too young to get all these!!!

  • ο ΚΑΤΡΑΚΗΣ ΗΤΑΝ ΠΑΡΑ ΠΟΛΥ ΜΕΓΑΛΟΣ ΗΘΟΠΟΙΟΣ!!!!!!!!

  • eccellente! I liked this very much. All the hollywood productions cannot match this. Great costumes and actors.

  • Thanks for posting!

  • Tremendously powerful. Tragedy and catharsis. Super direction. Great camera work and acting. And Ms Papas.

  • Many thanks!

  • This is how I like my ancient Greek tragedies performed: Decent costumes, capable actors, fitting scenery and good music! I wish more of the ancient plays of the great theatre triad (Aeschylus, Sophocles and Euripides) would be thus adapted for the cinema or television! A complete works edition like the one the BBC made for the works of Shakespeare would be nice! But Greece is bankrupt at the moment and the classical culture lost and forgotten in Europe at the moment.

  • Mr Everything again, becomes Mr Nothing.

The only surviving members of Lauis's line is Ismene and Creon. Laius, Jocasta, Oedipus, Antigone have all been murdered or committed suicide. Tragic. I like this version although the Chorus is missing. This is clearly a modernized version. The director is brilliant. Creon being greeted by the opening door with the died queen on the floor surrounded by her maids while carrying dead Haemon in his arms zeros in perfectly on the tragic element.

  • Creon isn't one of Laius' line, he was Jocasta's brother and therefore Laius' brother-in-law.

  • Thanks you so much - I've only seen English versions of this before, it's interesting to compare and contrast emotion and language.
