This is BY FAR the best version of this song. I saw The beautiful South at the Later with Jools Holland Studios and this song stole the night for me. I could listen to Jacqui singing this version all day long. Mind you, Dobie Grays version is class
Ok, upon looking at this again I can only think of Jacqui and "perhaps" why she left the band - this song just stirs your soul and the visuals from sannox01 drive the message home of ""family and children"", being a parent is truly the hardest job in the world but unequivocally the best in terms of what you get in return in those rare quiet moments.
I can only hope that Jacqui has seen this (has healthy children) and I'm sure she feels what we all do when watching it. Thanks sannox01!
Beautiful song. Jackie was a very versatile singer. I remember this from the Jools Special. I also remember her blowing away Iris Dement at her own country/western genre on the same programme.

Elvis and Olivia Newton John both sang this but my favorite is Jacqui by far and always will be...

Nice version, but please give credit to the songwriter, Tom Jans.

I've been too long in the wind, too long in the rain...
Jacqui come back and sing - the world is missing you!
Camille O'Sullivan and yourself would make a stunning duet.
You had to of stumbled across this post by Sannox?...where are you?

Sorely missed, as was my dad at the time.
