I think the M series is great, I could improve it but Caterpillar won't talk to me. I work in Albertas north and have lots of hrs on 14 and 16M as well as H and G models. It just takes a steadier hand to finish with an M. So suck it up girlz
@hawker800FO As a matter of fact i did run one for a week as a demo in our RM and not one of us three operators that got seat time on it liked it at all. Good set up for dirt work, not so much for high-speed snow plowing. Bitch
I may be able to hit a target with a piece of machinery but that does not mean I can decide where the target should be. What I mean is that just because someone can knock over cone toppers does not mean they can Grade a surface. I am no grader and have enough trouble running my Kubota tractor to get the results desired. I can easily maneuver it to do stunts but have issues with getting desired results in the leveling or sloaping of an area. This was still worth watching.
Why re invent what was already a good thing? H was great, now we have a electronic nightmare with a light front end and not friendly to the body. I was hardcore CAT until the m. Now i think im favoring the JD...The m Hurt my back, wrists and constantly gave me a headache with so much more concentration. And try roading the machine down a 2 lane highway at full speed.....
@motergraderman When you are at high speed you need a very loose feel on the left stick. I brace my arm and bump the stick to make small adjustments. Bumps in the road will raise hell if you are holding the stick tight!
@308scoutrfl LOL apparentley you have never ran push pull, since i can gurantee there are more operators that can run a blade and be good at it, then there are operators that can run push pull and be good at it retard!
As for the new M series, we finally got one 2 weeks ago. Boy are they fun, but they do take a little getting used to. Especially backing up, it doesn't take much movement in the stick to snap those wheels one way or another.
they must really have a boring existance in that country.

Although it is not being used, the grader has an AccuGrade GPS system installed.
You can learn more about this system and compare it to competitive systems from Leica and Topcon on The Kellogg Report website.
