Rawhide901 is spot on. Your torso remains vertical while the bike leans under you. This style is more comfortable since your head is not close to the ground, but it actually eats up more lean angle than straight-up riding. Your hips are also rotating around the tank, and at times you’re adding lean angle and throttle together. The three of these are common causes of crashes. I was guilty of all. Keith Code’s school fixed me and I haven’t wondered why folks crash since.

You're certainly ripping it up guys, your body position is better on right handers than left. On the lefts you're all 'crossed up'. Your ass comes off the seat but your shoulders don't move to the inside line of the bike. Check out Keith Code. Take it easy dude ;)

I know there are many more great places, but especially that year, that spring, the perfect weather, a weekday, little traffic and no smokey bears around. The speed of how we rode the Warriors that day did not fully come out in the video. Just for reference: That Warrior is by no means a sport bike. I also own an R1 and you cannot compare how you ride each bike through a road like the Dragon. That week I used up a brand new set of tires in just 520 miles.

@coronet1969 well...some people put music over their videos cause the original sound file is ruined by sound distortion created by the wind...this is especially true when your filming a motorcycle video, clean crisp audio is the key to having a good video...if its gonna sound like crap why not mask it over with something better? id rather hear music over the BWAAAAAAAHHHHHBYUDgSDYUSGDYUSG­DYUGSDY sound the wind makes anyday

I found another road like this in Ohio, west of Portsmouth. Shorter and not as many curves, but with a lot of elevation changed. There's also a few small towns along the road, so you need to slow for them, down from the posted limit of 55 MPH.

There are 2 problems with doing this. First, you need to be safe and respectful to other road users, including any who may be an idiot and use both lanes. Second, you cant floor it on the straights; but the corners are a joy

Gonna have to agree with Module. I lived in Chiang Mai Thailand for the better half of my life, but am in Virginia at the moment. Been to Dragons Tail and I have to say, it's nothing compared to what you'll find in other countries. The ride to Mae Hong Son from Chiang Mai's longest straight is so much better, thousands of turns, hundreds of kilometers, and in most parts you'll top 250kph(well maybe not YOU...) ; ) Easy to kill new rubbers in 2 rides. If anyone serious ever gets a chance...

I see so many videos about that piece of road that I wonder if that's the only twisty road you have in a country so large as the US. Here where I live, in the center of Portugal, there are hundreds and hundreds of kms of twisty roads like that (and some even tighter) with virtually no traffic, that I only wish I could have more spare time to ride them in my R1.

@Module79L Nah there are a ton of twisties out here. In fact, the last time I rode the tail we hit a stretch of road that was a lot more difficult on the way there. I think that it is just one of those cultural things. First of all, most of the people, not all, but most of the people that ride there, regardless of what they ride, get along great. So you can hang out and listen to stories. In addition the territory around there is really pretty. A great place to camp or grab a hotel.

@Module79L So many people and so many countries are packed into Europe and area, so roads were built like they needed to be. In North America, home of Canada (2nd largest land mass, and USA, 3rd largest land mass in the world) we only have like 35 million people in Canada, and like 300 million in the states. No need for a road that twists around every rock and tree when you can just lay down a freeway. Doesn't make sense to have twisty roads here other than from a fun standpoint.
