I don't know where you got that information but that is completely false. Meizu's patent for the M8 is on various websites it's dated at least two months after the rumors of the Ipone started stiring...just sayin'...

It's very similar to the iphone, plus, it has sms forwarding, mms and copy and paste. Worth considering if you like the iphone but don't have it yet. Very commendable alternative for the iphone.
I have a few concernes. First of all, why the mouse-icon? It's Mobile device, it should Not be having a good damn pointer. Second, the processor can't handle the strain, which is weird. The smooth scrolling can be done on a 200MHz, 3 year old HTC phone - it should be do-able on this device. Thrid; What? "program files", "windows"? It's really, really stupid on their part to have Vista-esque foldernames on in their root-folder. Just team up with Google ffs.
This is an early beta phone, it won't be perfect. The processor can handle it, the software is finished yet because it's not polished. It will have an 800MHZ Samsung processor. Does your 3 year old device have a 720x480 touch screen? Didn't think so.
Looks good! But whats with the DVB receiver? Canceled? :( And i want to see the html page display! Btw. will the phone support sdhc cards? And will it also support full resolution video playback?

I've been reading about this device a while now. Everything I have seen and read, makes me realize how much better it is than the Iphone. Talk about a hassle, maybe I"m just a biased WIndows User but I still feel like that gives me more room for customization.

That Apple is a big name brand does not mean it is the origin of all Iphone-like touch screen cell phones. Before Iphone was even released, many models of touch screen cell phones had already been in the Chinese market. You guys just never got a chance to know the fact. Meizu takes the best aspects of Apple products, and they improve it.
Meizu M6 is better like any iPod, 'cause Apple only cares about style and stupidly marketing. But they have sicked fans that repeat all that they say, yeah...
And this Meizu seems to be the same: seems like an "iphone copy", but it's an iphone killer: better and cheaper.
I've never bought an Apple product before, but I played around with an iPhone, and there is no question that it has a very well designed interface. I think it is wrong when a company spends a lot of money on R&D and hiring the designers and engineers to create something new and someone else copies the product. In the long run, the practice undermines the incentive to innovate and society is worse off. Why spend the money when you can just copy someone else??
I do support Meizu, and do agree Apple's products empty your wallet. Quite frankly though, I love every single Apple product I own, and each of them are innovative.
The technical specifications for the Apple iPhone are still far better than the Meizu's as the iPhone can process things twice as fast as the Meizu, but the Meizu probably has better sound quality. An added bonus with the iPhone is the great accelerometer.
Why should the iPhone be twice as fast as the M8? At least the iPhone 1 should have a slower CPU than the M8, and I don't think they've changed the CPU for the iPhone 3G. And anyway, they can only use what other companies produce... the iPhone uses a Samsung CPU, the M8 does too, and in the M8 it's the latest and greatest Samsung produces.
I think it is wrong when a company like Xerox spends a lot of money on R&D and hiring the designers and engineers to create the first computer system with mouse, GUI, desktop paradigm and icons, and then Steve Jobs comes around for visit and not only copies everything of it, but spreads the revisionist tale Apple actually was the very innovative ubercool company who pioneered all that.

first off, this phone has been in development since before the iphone was released, second, as far as that patent goes, just about anything(mostly thinking computers that have done it, you can look them up) that can do multi-touch uses that two finger method for zoom and rotate, apple just patented it with their operating system for their phone

It will not have a memory slot but it will come in 8GB or 16GB. It has a 720x480 LTPS TFT LCD.

I found the Meizu M6 10 times better than the ipod, so this will probably be the same case, since apple admidded to have put on a hidden "button of death" that automaticly formats your iphone when sertain systems find 3rd party software on it that wasn't sold via apple

That Apple is a big name brand does not mean it is the origin of all Iphone-like touch screen cell phones. Before Iphone was even released, many models of touch screen cell phones had already been in the Chinese market. You guys just never got a chance to know the fact. nfoo, you don't know nothing about China so shut the FXXX up about that! You guys have a copy right law in the States, we have one in China. I have seen as many situations of breaching copy rights in the States as in China. People use priate copies of software, songs, movies etc., you name it, in this case, no country is different. Interesting thing is, the majority of those illegal software copies were cracked by smart and talented groups of people in western countries, not in China!

99Degree: Have you ever been to China? I can walk 5 minutes around my block in Shanghai, and see about 5 people selling bootleg DVDs, right on the street. That's not to say it's only a Chinese phenomenon, but it happens so much more in China, it's silly to claim otherwise.

So there are American companys, advertising with being apple to produce 200.000 devices a week which all use technology that is patented by other companys, without paing for the usage.

Meizu takes the best aspects of Apple products, and they improve it.
Meizu M6 is better like any iPod, 'cause Apple only cares about style and stupidly marketing. But they have sicked fans that repeat all that they say, yeah...
And this Meizu seems to be the same: seems like an "iphone copy", but it's an iphone killer: better and cheaper.

I've never bought an Apple product before, but I played around with an iPhone, and there is no question that it has a very well designed interface. I think it is wrong when a company spends a lot of money on R&D and hiring the designers and engineers to create something new and someone else copies the product. In the long run, the practice undermines the incentive to innovate and society is worse off. Why spend the money when you can just copy someone else??

Meizu takes the actual innovations to improve it, but Apple still thinking how to empty our wallets.
An MP3/4 without radio is not the evolution of innovation, is the evolution of "marketingful".
I repeat: Meizu not only copy. They improve it, and this is very important. The technical specs of this Meizu are amazing, better than iphone's.
And remember: Apple doesn't "create" this minimalistic style. They only charge it, again and again...

I do support Meizu, and do agree Apple's products empty your wallet. Quite frankly though, I love every single Apple product I own, and each of them are innovative.
The technical specifications for the Apple iPhone are still far better than the Meizu's as the iPhone can process things twice as fast as the Meizu, but the Meizu probably has better sound quality. An added bonus with the iPhone is the great accelerometer.

Why should the iPhone be twice as fast as the M8? At least the iPhone 1 should have a slower CPU than the M8, and I don't think they've changed the CPU for the iPhone 3G. And anyway, they can only use what other companies produce... the iPhone uses a Samsung CPU, the M8 does too, and in the M8 it's the latest and greatest Samsung produces.

HAHA, the M8's processor is a LOT faster than the iPhone's. The M8 has an 800MHZ Samsung 6410 processor. 256MB RAM, iPhone has 128MB.

I think it is wrong when a company like Xerox spends a lot of money on R&D and hiring the designers and engineers to create the first computer system with mouse, GUI, desktop paradigm and icons, and then Steve Jobs comes around for visit and not only copies everything of it, but spreads the revisionist tale Apple actually was the very innovative ubercool company who pioneered all that.

Meizu started the ball rolling and the iphone 2g was released around the initially rumoured release date of the m8. Apple rushed things and dont deserve all of their self appointed praise

Actually Meizu is a very reputable and large Chinese manufacturer and actually compete head to head with Apple in China. Strange how we never hear about the best technology unless a big American company markets it.

And yes Chinese production does make things more comfortable for us. But I'm thinking long term here. I wouldn't mind all this Chinese succes at all if they had some respect for copyright and a political system I could trust. Less poverty is good though.

first off, this phone has been in development since before the iphone was released, second, as far as that patent goes, just about anything(mostly thinking computers that have done it, you can look them up) that can do multi-touch uses that two finger method for zoom and rotate, apple just patented it with their operating system for their phone
