  • why can't Esher just shut the hell up?

  • @jellybumfruitcakes Argh, unskippable cutscenes!

  • @tjp7154 Damn right! Plus I hated the way he said D'ni, such a shame you couldn't have control over your fists as well as the camera lol

  • I'd love to compose for a soundtrack for a game like Myst! Composing music like this is fun!

  • Myst IV Revelation is the best myst to me. It's just what myst is all about... it really continued the story of the first myst, the Ages were beautiful, the puzzles were fun, the dificulty was well balanced, beatiful soundtrack and graphics.

btw how did you manage to turn around the camera when esher was talking to you?

  • god this lady talks for EVER

  • Loved Riven back in 1997 when it came out. Now, I just play mmorpgs like Lotro and Aion.

  • i think myst 5 is the shorter version of uru for europe i liked uru very much and myst and riven but hated the last part it has too much bugs and i never had a clue to finish it.

  • shorter version of uru for europe? no... URU isn't even technically part of the myst series. its a spin off of it.

  • anyway uru had more believeable miracles in it and a huge package of good grafics and gsmeplay. if uru is no part of myst why schould they do myst 5 end of ages as last part of the series were all are much older (ok its called ages beyound myst) but i think myst eoa plays after uru. They released uru 3 years before myst eoa dont know what happened in usa but i played all myst games and loved all, just EOA not.

  • your nodding was hilarious, and the 1 time you shook your head LOL

  • geez, that thing at 6:30 scared me.

  • Heh. Its like you're nodding your head constantly saying, "Yeah, I'm listening. I get it."

  • My take:

Riven - What a belivable world! And so full of culture.

Myst (esp. realMyst) - so surreal and alone. Loved it!

Exile - Saveedro acting good, Amateria ending awesome!

Revelation - Graphics were incredible, but the acting (and Serenia) really was a let down

    Myst V

-seemed rushed, not as good looking or immersive as Myst 4, story was 'meh'.

  • @Antphoneigh How about URU? Should that be listed?

  • @Antphoneigh thats exactly the same order, maybe switch revelation and exile around but other than that, i agree completely.

  • @Antphoneigh conclusion: cheesy actor's are still better than virtual characters ;)

  • I haven't played V yet, but it REALLY bothers me that they changed the style so much. I think the Myst series is definitely one that never needed a change.

  • They should have kept the live acting

  • Someone actually likes EoA best? I've never seen this before.

  • Ah, no. Actually Uru or Riven are probably my favorite.

The acting in EoA is way too cheesy. lol.

  • @tjp7154 Yeesha's lines might be cheesy, but Esher is the most well-acted Myst-character of all time (except of cause for Saavedro). Remember the fail-ending of the original Myst (going to D'ni without a link back)? Athus is like "Damn it, now we're trapped here for all eternity. Sorta' fail don't you think? But then again, sh*t happens :)" .. and then the game ends. Compared to that, please just turn up the melodrama..!

  • @tjp7154 i think they made a mistake in making the characters computer generated....it's not good enough

  • This is my favorite Myst game. my list from best to worst (though I love ALL Myst games) is:

    1) Myst V: End of Ages.

    2) Myst.

    3) Myst III: Exile.

    4) Riven: The Sequal to Myst.

    5) Myst IV: Revelation.

Revelation is my least favorite because i thought the little girl's voice was VERY annoying and ear-scratching!

  • What about Uru? That sucked pretty bad. (At least for real Myst fans.)

  • (responding to mtayla)

  • I never played Uru actually

  • Mine would be:

    1)Riven

    2)Myst

    3)Myst III

    4)Myst IV

    5)Uru (if that counts)

    6)Myst V

I just really didn't like Myst V. It seems like it should have been called Uru 2. Myst V should have been set in the same timeline as the first 4. It's just so different, because it incorporates the "modern-day" timeline that was established in Uru, which I never really liked.

  • What happened to the actors???

  • I hate Yeesha, I wish she never existed.

  • Riven, no other beats it.

  • Where can i get riven?

  • at a game shop?

  • I think you can only get it on ebay or amazon now. no game shop sells myst anymore.

  • i found it at a thrift store about a month ago!

  • Myst requires even less to finish really. You can finish that in mere seconds.

  • oh god, yeah, all you had to do was memorize the coding you put in the back of the fireplace - but that's testament to the fact that it truly is a problem-solving game, as opposed to others, where you know what to do, but it wont let you progress until "collection of X item occurs".

  • Myst II (Riven) was my favorite, although I enjoyed them all.

About this vid, I bet it was annoying you couldn't skip the character interaction bits. Always hated that. :(

  • for me myst III was thebest

  • Ive got the demo and i plan on getting the game but on the demo im stuck where i pull a string and some stairs fall down and i climb the stairs and there is a big dome with sybombles on it and 4 stones around it with the same sybombles on them can any one help me out

  • the nodding was terrible, F*#@ piss me off,

  • i loled at the constant nodding at the end
