Except sw20's ain't borh with Superchargers, it's the aw11. it has a sc12, but like I said, this is a rev2 MR2, and it's probably a 5sfe hence the low boost. And btw, it's a mini cooper S supercharger..

aka, you fail, and btw the SC sounds like it runs all the time, and it doesn't clutch or engage when needed, so it'll wear down quick due to the heat it produces, and make less power that way also..

hmm.. sounds like you have the supercharger running at all times.. it should be engaged by an electromagnetic clutch controlled by throttle. The sound of this vid indikates that it runs sll the time.. it'll wear it down fast + it's gonna run warm and produce less power.

The 4AGZE has the clutch, this will be a 3SGZE using na SC14, which I'm pretty sure doesn't have a clutch assembly.

Hi, yes the sc14 is on the 4agze, but not on the mr2, 4agze. it's on the corolla, 4agze, and when running the sc14 on an mr2 aw11, it's often run with the sc14 body + sc12 endplate, cause of lack of space. I see you have the 2.gen sw20 or 22 or something, but it still sounds like the sc is running full time, aka running warm and producing less power because it can't disengage.

turbos and superchargers have trade offs while turbos have turbo lag superchargers are limited to what kind of power they can produce plus the power taken away from the belt....basically it depends what you want the car used for.....what kind of supercharger did you mount on it? i have a turbo awd 2g talon and love to try my hand on a 2nd gen supercharged mr2

in fact its because of that fact that my friend and i have begun doing some work on a hybrid turbo/supercharger, the compressor will be both driven by a belt and then as the exhaust pressure becomes greater than the power from the belt it will take over and become a turbo driven compressor

well superchargers push air straight away into the engine, where as turbos use the engine to push air into the engine if that makes sense...aka superchargers kick on straight away whereas turbos need the car to be moving to start working

Unfortunately, i dont believe you can have both - the turbo would make use of the exhaust gas velocity to pressurize air and would follow its normal path to the intake manifold, but the supercharger unit inherently replaces the intake manifold which means its in the way.

believe me i have no idea how it works!!!! lol but is very possible for the japanese. dunno wether the supercharger starts giving boost at low revs while the turbo waits for the high revs, then the turbo spools up and the super runs out of stink and waits for low revs again....i have no idea....just no its very possible

The supercharger was from a mini cooper S. It was a hell of a lot of work to fit the supercharger, the mini supercharger has a funny intake pipe which makes things worse. It'd be much easier with a proper supercharger kit to be honest!
