That was funny exept for the scene where Alice and Adam jr died in the fire. I mean what was Michael landon thinking? Alice could have put him down on the bed, busted out the window, hollered "I'm throwing the baby down!" somebody would have caught him and then Alice could have jumped out the window My God it was a second story window she would have just broke a leg or something.

I agree, that whole thing just didn't make sense. There was no reason for Mary to leave her baby behind in the first place.  She could have easily just grabbed him before she went to get all the blind kids out. And also, Hester Sue made the fire spread when she opened the door to the basement- they always tell you NOT to open a door if it's hot or you see smoke...but I guess they didn't have fire safety education back then. :P
