Thank you for watching! My fiddle is actually not a violin, but a pardessus viol, an instrument that was played in 17th-century France. It is a member of the" viol"(English) or viola da gamba (Italian for "fiddle of the leg") family of instruments, all of which are played on the lap.
I heard Gallows done at a Celtic Music Faire here in No Cal, USA in 2008 and liked it. Couldn't find it and was happy to find You doing it on You Tube. I like the dark and cozy look with the holiday lighting and fireplace. I had to call my husband to come look at the magnificent way you hold your fiddle. I am very impressed. How did that come about? Nice music. I had fun watching.
