You have a peculiar idea of what socialism is......kind of like Ronald Reagan, who said the same thing about Medicare in 1964. Single-payer healthcare involves free choice of doctor and hospital within a system where services are provided by your beloved private enterprise system while they are administered and paid for publically. One insurance company instead of hundreds, something you might appreciate if you had to maintain a medical practice in the United States.
