@leeanne1003 I heard that some of the CS ones are a tad too big. You can put your MAC pan into the empty pan that comes with the CS palette so that it fits in the CS palette. That way your e/s will be in 2 pans. Get it?

i got the magnetized 28 palette from starsmakeuphaven to use for my depotted NYX shadows. for some reason, the NYX shadow pans are not sticking to the palette. any suggestions?

Cut out a little square from those magnetic business cards, or those magnetic school planners, anything that has a thin magnet. Then glue it onto the bottom of the pans. You could also like use a little ball of play-doh and stick it in there..

I heard that the CS palette's (magnetic) repel the mac eye shadows. I read that in a couple of the reviews. CS wants you to use them only with their pots or hot pots shadows.

All you need to do is take the magnet off the eyeshadow pan. Any two magnetic forces will repel each other--it has nothing to do with which eyeshadows CS wants you to use or not use.

i use the coastal scents 12 pan palettes. i bought them so i could easily just depot my mac shadows and place them in a palette. however, i ran into a problem. for some reason not all of the mac pans would stay. like, the magnet wouldn't hold them down. so i had to push them into the little pans that come with the palette. i also ran into a problem where the mac pan was too small to snuggly fit into the cs pan. so i put a little coating of nail polish on the bottom to get it to stick into it.

actually, the plastic on the 28 palette is quite similar in strength compared to the smaller ones. the reason it "feels" more flimsy is because it is larger. the plastic is the same thickness as compared to the smaller ones.

also, it is important to keep in mind that only stainless pans can stick to the palettes with magnetic bottoms. if you purchase aluminum pans they won't stick.

i've actually been looking for a plain metal pencil case to use as a cheap alternative...

if you have a lot of eye shadows, the palettes save more space than if you bought all the MAC eye shadows, for example, that come in the big bulky pots. it also helps you stay more organized so you know where every color is.

Depotting and putting them in palettes save space and it's easier for traveling as opposed to having to carry them in their individual cases. They can be bulky. Some people also like having all their eyeshadows altogether side by side when they're doing makeup because it's more convenient for them. Some organize the palettes according to color too.

Thanks for the comparison. I use the 15 pan palette without magnets as the shop that imports CS-like items here sent me the wrong palette (I ordered the 12+magnets), but it's better than none. Then I also have various MAC Quads which I bought cheaper at a beauty board second hand over here, some new ones and two beloved elf quads that I bought from the new german elf online-store. :D
