@puffpet okay . i got an sim card from ebay and went to att.com and activated it. and for an iphone 2g i unlocked it and put the sim in the iphone and it only says no service. can you help me please

Wouls this work with a t-mobile pre paid sim? I have a sim for my iPhone already but i was given the iPhone for free with the sim cause the person was getting the 4g iPhone. So the sim might or might not be disconnected how do i check? And how do i know if its a prepaid sim or not?

@TeChNiiQzz T-Mobile will work, just download the carrier pack from Cydia to get data working. Just look for "T-Mobile" and then your plan, like Even More or Even More Plus.

@kimbobabyy If you go to a store and buy an AT&T GoPhone, the SIM card in that phone will only work with the phone it was purchased with. You have to buy a SIM card off of eBay.

@puffpet yes lol idk i was trying to lock my phone so people wont be able to read my messages and stuff but idk what the hell i did and it said enter PUK number and i had no idea what it was and it only gave me 10 tries and instead of going to the store i kept pussing different numbers lol then the whole phone got locked and yeah :( it was all my fault

u can just call att. i have an lg prime and the sim was locked to my fone. then i called att and told them to unlock it cuz i wanted to use a samsung impression. they unlocked my sim card and said my sim will now work with any att fone.

@mcrrocks96 Check your service. Try resetting the network settings, too. Call AT&T if you want... they may yell at you for having the iPhone on the prepay plan, but maybe not. Just tell them that you're not getting texts. That's all I can say. Good luck!

@antimax Craigslist is very cheap at least where I live, and pretty local. Or, Google "Great iPod Exchange" then click iPhone. A 4GB iPhone runs at $130

@antimax100 Every iPhone SHOULD work prepaid. I can't guarentee that it will. By old, I mean that you should get it off eBay. If you just buy a gophone in the store, it won't work.

I bought the gophone with SIM last year and I bought a iphone 3G from someone on craigslist 3 months ago. My phone works fine but since it's a gophone plan my mms doesn't work anymore and that just happened last month. Sucks! Any way around this? Would your vid help?

You buy a used iPhone, maybe from Craigslist or The Great iPod Exchange, and an AT&T SIM card (which is also sold in stores)

Im pretty sure you can buy a gophone with a sim. Just dont activate it in store. You can go online and activate it. Just make sure that after you put in the imei (or somethin) and SIM #s that you put it in the iPhone FIRST.

Sorry, that's wrong. All SIM cards included with GoPhones are locked to the phone they were sold with.

This video is very correct.i have a 16gb white iphone 3gs with a gophone sim with 3g data and it works perfectly! so much better then bein on a contract with a iphone from att.i put $100 card on mines n it lasts for a whole year on a $1 a day gophone att plan..i have wifi connection at my house so all my data is free at home so i dont have to use my $20data plan 3g speed much unless im out n jus want2browse internet real quick,but my prepaid iphone 3gs is almost the best phone in the world!

It's ideal to do this with a new activation but a used iPhone. Are you currently using a gophone plan?

Everyone makes it sound so hard. I just did this, if you buy with credit it will lock to that phone for 6 months. BUT all you have to do is call ATT tech support and they will unlock your sim. I just told them that my gophone broke and I needed to unlock the sim. Then they will ask for an IMEI number and tell them that you cant read it on your old nokia gophone. They say no problem. Then you put the sim card in your iphone and it works. Jailbreak and unlock first.

i think that you can use any sim card, as long as it has not been activated.
