  • Country was country when Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, George Strait etc, were around. This is want to be country as far as I'm concerned!

  • GREAT VOICE

  • Really? Are you kidding me?

  • One of the few country singers that I really do like, and one that I think is really going to be remembered over the long run. The words of his songs are as fresh today as they ever were. He has some of the best written songs in country music.

  • I wish they still made country songs like this..I remember listening to this kind of country all the time when I was a kid.

  • another black man posing.....

  • i enjoy listing to his songs he has a deep voice

  • wow this is a great one

  • so sweet song thankyou

  • @j2bodydouble i think if ace ventura and george bush had a love child it would be picture perfect...

  • great job on this post. . .you really nailed the sound, especially the bass response :)

  • i never realized how much randy looks like ace ventura pet detective. lol

  • God what happen to music like this

  • @sixnightsaweek AMEN

    love me some Randy Travis

  • GREAT song.. and like his singing very much ;))))

  • if you dont like randy you can kiss my ass he is the greatest

  • Randy Travis is a graverobber.

  • Randy, Dwight, Garth and Alan = Highwaymen 2.

  • @mrbobevans the issue is that REAL country music is not near popular enough to form a decent highwaymen 2!

  • Songs of the heart = country songs

  • I like this

  • Great fucking Song!!!!!

  • Love this song, and Randy Travis has an all-time great sound

  • Who wrinkled my Randy Travis poster!?!?!?

  • His mouth reminds me of Arnold Schwarzenegger.

  • @wolfpaw69 Have you ever seen Jim Neighbors?

  • Randy, this one of your very best songs, I think. Randy check ot my song Demo, I didn't want to know, on YouTube. I'd really LOVE for you sing it .

  • @9lontoonieful1 ??????????????????????????

  • Most said he was tooooooo country for his time...well i guess it is ok to be wrong...banging out hits for years...one of the most pure voices in country music...thanks for being toooooooo country...and never wanted to be anything else!!

  • Randy you are the real deal! I mean it man we have nothing but love for you here in Alabama!~~~~Steven G Terry

  • I wonder if any one know's if Randy is still married to his first wife who was

much older than him ? I read one time that she was very jealous of young

    women around him

  • @freba90 No they are no longer married ... he divorced her b/c she caught him with their dentist's wife ... Travis says he will marry his girlfriend as soon as she divorces her husband.

  • I'm surprised this song isn't on Randy's you tube channel.

    He's awesome.

    Amp...thanks for sharing the video.*****

  • Bottom line....THIS is REAL country. Period.

  • mikeredrugger fuck you you "Ball-less, soul-less, Sucker of Satan's Cock" he makes music that has meaning, whether its a love song a break up song or a song about having fun and since when are you qualified to judge people dickhead if you can do better id like to see you try bitch

  • This guy do'es something for me everytime I hear his voice can't hear him enough

  • OK. Good dealie'o!

  • aite yall im 22 years old and i know a hell of alot of yall are around my age and younger and want yall to know: THIS IS COUNTRY. screw yer damn jason aldean and taylor switft bullshit. you hear that twang? THATS COUNTRY BUD

  • Comment removed

  • @rosemarie443 he's got that twang you yuppie son of a bitch.

  • Comment removed

  • @rosemarie443 Take it to the Roadhouse video site. Why do you think Patrick Swayze had the foresight to make that movie?

  • @etbella3 i didn't see the movie, and i really do not care, i like the song and i play it often. and that is all

  • @SCryder07 no he does not. he is hipabilly

  • Comment removed

  • That question doesn't make sense. Why wouldn't I?

  • Garth Brooks is a lame d-bag. He was the pre curser to shit like american idol. He's not an artist, he's a preformer. He missed his calling on broadway.

  • Comment removed

  • @AaronRainy then why did you come to this video, and listen to the song.

  • @AaronRainy why would you, you just want to bring down somebody that is doing better than you. i asked you a question that you did not answer. you did not miss your calling as a idiot.

  • Great voice ever

  • The best voice for ever!!!!!!

  • Randy tells it truthfully. Everyone who ever had a divorce knows what he is talking about.

  • Randy Travis is amazing, I finally get the chance to see him in concert next Friday and can't wait!

  • We need a Highwaymen 2, with Alan Jackson, Randy Travis, Dwight Yoakam and Garth Brooks.

  • @mrbobevans back away from the crack pipe . Garth Brooks?!?!?! Dude!...that would be Joe Ely, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Roger Creager, and Hayes Carll

  • @mrbobevans Alright look here man, good grouping there, but get rid of that fag Garth Brooks. Any fan of the Highwaymen knows Brooks is a closet case just waitin for his gay lover to out him. Yea the guy can sing, yea he sells out stadium but as Bill Hicks once said about Vanilla Ice, Garth Brooks is nothing more than a "Ball-less, soul-less, spiritless, corporate suckup" and a "Sucker of Satan's Cock" I'm sure that I'll get flamed for it, but Brooks is the farthest thing from an artist!

  • beast song aver !!!!!!!

  • I think my friends crap thier pants when i tell them my favorite artist is Randy Travis. All they listen to is that emo crap! =/ Well of course it is was i should suspect because im 15 =P

  • @DreamGuitar73 lol, im 17 i know what u mean i think Mr. Travis has one on the most attractive voices ever!

  • not a whole bunch of black people in that crowd lol

  • @Rosemarie172 lol nothin its just funny

  • Great song!

    Thanks for sharing.

  • great song ...

  • To the 9 people that pressed dislike, really? Randy Travis is the best musical talent of all time. Nobody will ever come close to being as good as Randy. If you don't like it, that's fine. But don't come on here and spread your stupidity. Randy Travis, you're the best!!!!!

  • 9 people voted down because they never facebook stalked their old girlfriends.

  • @armastama its just that those 9 people never had a girlfriend to feel this way about

  • @armastama I have to agree, but in my case it's a dead marriage, that I couldn't let go.

  • @armastama

it isnt even really stalking... its just remembering

    but your comment is amazing

  • @armastama great bass voice!!!HE married his manager, she rob the grave, he cooked at the nashville palace, and a dishwasher>>>>she got him hook, line, and sinker!!!!kept him on a tight rope!!!!held on her investment!!!!!hurt his career, he could still be up on top again, if he ant too old!!!like george, and us older country stars!!!!they`ve went b/pop/b bop??????

  • this guy was blessed with one of the all time best voices. right up there with the possum and hank

  • randy tavis or garth brooks hmmm i wonder whos better

  • @Metallica3761

    Randy Travis

  • @Metallica3761

    Randy Travis has my vote.

  • this is still awesome country music being made today. its just not in the main stream, u have to search harder to find it.

  • @zodiac09 100% truth, well said

  • i am the only one in my whole jh tht loves country music if i were to pick anyone to have a sing off against a rapper or pop singer randy travis would be the one that i would choose

  • One of his best!!!

  • Love Randy's voice!!!

  • Kid Rock is not trying to be country and has never claimed to be, his roots are country music but, he is doing his own thing which he would tell you him self and he has said numerous times. He combines some songs he redoes some old songs and honestly I cant think of a music star that has not redone some old hits in a new style. That is all it is only his style is drastically different then most and there is nothing wrong with that don't like it don't listen to it plain and simple.

  • He may be singing this about a woman; But I know when I hear this I think about my ex boyfriend..I'm listenin' to this "diggin' up bones"..Just "resurrecting memories of a love that's dead and gone"..Years later and I'm still in love with him..Thank god for good country or I'd probably curl up and die.

  • this was ed gein's favorite song

  • @raymondmiloshIII Doubtful, its from the album Storms of Life Released June 6 1986. Ed Gein died July 26 1984

  • @genego Lol!!

  • Is this is pure American culture? I don't know 'cause I'm European ;)

  • @miniboard09 What the music its part of it

  • Randy Travis is pure country. His old stuff is hard to beat. Let me hear this song, Deeper Than the Holler, and Honky Tonk Moon, and I'll feel like I'm back home in one of my old watering holes in the little town where I grew up.

  • im not so much into new country but randy travis just cant be ignored. easily one of the most distinct voices since the great George Jones.

  • @mescalinebandit420 agree totally.....what a voice......

  • @mescalinebandit420 i think that Willie Nelson hase a distinct voice too

  • @mescalinebandit420

One of the best voices in all music.

  • this song brings me back when i was a kid doing dishes with my mother. my fav song

  • this was my moms favorite song of all times she loved randy . R.I.P. Mom and i will always love and miss you , it has only been a year since you left us and we still miss you like it was only yesterday

  • @pam11381 love to you at this difficult anniversary ♥

  • @erinwantstobesigned

Is he dead????? How????? Carol in Denver peoplecnxn@comcast.net

  • @Peoplecnxn no, carol, the girl whose comment i replied to said this song was her mother's favourite, and her mother passed away a year ago. as far as i know, Randy Travis is fine :)

  • classic country lyrics--cool as can be and Randy sure can croon a tune!

  • i thought all good country singer were dead, but looks like there is still one more......

  • I used to like randy travis untill i found out he was against mountain top removal

  • @itsalex320 But companies are destroying the land. I respect him more for helping to bring the damage mountaintop removal causes out of the shadows. I mean honestly how much do you think companies care about what they're causing? It's not only hurting the land but I bet hands down that it's harming the people that live near by, too.

  • @91238673 it's useless pieces of shit like yourself that make stupid comments about the best genre of music ever, suppose you listen to that head bangin, devil worshiping shit that makes no sense. If you ever get a chance to go to a country music concert go, and do us all a favor, stand up and yell country is crap and see what happens.

  • kept waiting for a rowdy mosh-pit to get started..........don't waste your time....it doesn't

  • thought Gary Busy was an actor...he's a damn country singer?

  • @i8urGspot LOL!!

  • ITs the fuckin right hot randy travis i like the song ... THe BEst man

  • I was lucky enough to meet Randy in Salamance, NY...He is the greatest singer and

such a nice person...You just can't get any better than that....

  • this song never gets old

  • i love this song it is soo awesome i sing it to my papa on the CD that i have in our van

  • this song is stuck in my head

  • I always enjoy all of Randy's music. He is the best! About Kid Rock, however, I will warn you that there is rumor Randy is working on a duet with him for his new album. Don't know if it is true or not but whatever Randy puts out there is sure to be good!

  • my grandson is 3 years old & my other grandson is 5 years & they both love this song!

  • love this song ,,,,,,, sing it Randy Excellent singing this

  • he is the best i wish he was a canadian

  • u want real country - George Jones! however Randy is right beside him - they are the 2 best ever.

  • Carolina's finest!!!!

  • Randy's studio version hit #1 in Billboard, 11-8-86. God bless ya, brother Randy!

  • we love this song

  • dont care what any one said randy travis is hot

  • lynchrvrhhr you do NOT have to be from the South to understand country music, that's the silliest thing I've ever heard. Why is it that people seem to think that rural life, farming, and small towns only exist in the South? I'm in NJ..yes Southern NJ and grew up in such a place listening to country music like the rest of my family. Country music isn't about a geographical area, it's about family and values and all that goes along with it.

I do agree with you about Kid Rock however;)

  • I'm going to see Randy next week...Can't wait, he is the best...

  • best country voice would be Cash.

  • bonez

  • I love this song. I love all his music. And his movies. And his voice.

  • Last night i dug my picture out from my old dresser drawer and I set it on the table and i talked to it 'til four and I read some old love letters right up 'til the break of dawn and Then i went to the jewelery and i found my old engagement right he gave our e ngagment at the time Exhuming things that better left alone and I'm resurringin

g memories of love that's dead and gone.

  • Great song, great singer

  • A great song written by the great Paul Overstreet who also wrote Forever and Ever Amen.

  • the best country voice there evere was

  • Great song and Randy is one of the Best Country Singers

  • yepper what a good one

  • Simply beautiful.

  • Best Country singer (:

  • This song is clearly about necrophilia.

  • @Carmanowar only a butt pirate like you would know

  • Great Singer. They also should have cast him as Mr. Fantastic in the F4

  • @Redcombat17 BahhhhhhhhhhHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

  • women have a way of leaving bones where ever they go

  • Great song... I love Randy Travis great country singer

  • wow seen him at glenn helen 10 years ago still great

  • I wish we still had real country music like this around, In my opinion to really understand what country music is all about, u have to be from the country. Alot of southern tradition is carried out through the music of real country singer's. And I know i will get hate comment's about this, but Kid Rock has no place in country music. I'm sorry, he just does'nt understand. He had no place hosting the CMA's this year.

  • @lynchrvrhhr we rockers don't want kid rock either!!!!!

  • @lynchrvrhhr See, we DO still have country music like this, and if we all listen to it more we will make it popular again.

  • @lynchrvrhhr you wont get hate comments from me, but kd is just a big fan who got famous, he really is a down to earth guy and looks up to the pioneers of country. he doesnt claim to be country, or anything else accept a guy from middle class suburbs. you dont have to be from the country to see that its a great way to live. i have to agree with you that newer country doesnt compare to stuff like this. anyway it doesnt matter who hosts the awards, it isnt some sacred thing.

  • @lynchrvrhhr @lynchrvrhhr We DO still have Randy Travis and Josh Turner and couple of others. What must be done is ..... support them. Visit their YouTube channels. Visit CMT video sites for them. Outward recognition is what keeps them "alive" and it is brought about by communication ..... just as we have done here.

  • @lynchrvrhhr i agree

  • @lynchrvrhhr

That is RIDICULOUS!! I'm from Brooklyn, NY (You can't get MORE City then that) and Country Music is my FAVORITE genre of Music!! I may NOT be from the Country but I can relate MORE to Country Music then ANY other genre of music!! NOT every single Country Music Song talks JUST about life on the farm and working in the Country.

  • @kalmanizer lol, funny, for the longest time i was the exact opposite. I grew up in the country area of Florida, and i grew to absolutely hate country throughout middle and high school. however, i'm back to loving country like when i was a kid :)

  • @lynchrvrhhr

There are MANY Country Music Songs that talk about EVERY day life and broken hearts. Good times and bad times. You don't have to be from the Country to appreciate a GOOD Country Music Song. Country Music is offcially America's Music.

  • @lynchrvrhhr

Country Music is *officially* America's Music.

If I had a GOOD voice I would pursue a Country Music career and I have as much of a Northern Accent as Neal McCoy (One of my FAVORITE Country Music Singers) has a Southern Acccent. Since when do you HAVE to be from the Country to like or sing Country Music? I LOVE Country Music for its sincerity and for it's Stories and it's a known fact that Country Music fans are the MOST loyal fans of ANY genre.
