i restored a mid 80s car to get on the road this summer and buried behind the dash was this song on cassette, marked hamburg mix !!! i so want the 80s back, happier times !!!
this takes me back to the time when i was first getting into chart music. I bought the first london boys album out n it was on record!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Edem and Dennis both died in a car accident on 21 January 1996. They were travelling on a mountian road in the Alps and were hit head-on by a drunk driver who was trying to pass on the opposite side of the road. Fuller, Ephraim, Edem's wife Bettina, their mutual friend - a Hamburg DJ - and the Swiss driver all died. Edem and his wife left behind a son, Stevie, who was 3 years old at the time of the tragedy. Dennis had a daughter, Laura, who was 10.
This version was the Continental Remix that was originally released as a single in the second half of 1988. First time around, it failed to make the UK charts at the end of that year but was remixed and re-issued in early 1989 when it eventually climbed to no. 4 in May 1989 and stayed there for 3 weeks and was in the top 30 best sellers for 1989. This particular version was not the one that received the air play but nonetheless both versions are good. There is also a PWL remix available.
