My chickens won't eat out of my hand. They're on the grower/finisher crumbles. They eat it out of the feeder but don't know what it is in my hand. What could I handfeed them at that age?
Just a side note here... sorry this is only a small portion of the segment on feeding. The white chalky substance is diatomaceous earth (food grade) and the other tiny rocks are granit-grit for the chicken's digestive system. Healthy range, filled with weed seeds and insects is of course nature's buffet for chickens of all ages.

what is the protein count of your food. My feed store is not very helpful they said to just use universal scratch.

21% for starter/grower
17% for layer or adult birds... scratch grains are inadequate. Thanks for your question!
