I have had an abortion and I do not think any jail time can compete with the pain and regret I live with every single day. I don't think abortion should be legal. I will not shame anyone for choosing it but I urge women to really research abortion before opting for one.I think we as a country need to focus on educating our youth about contraceptives. I also think we all need to empower our young women and show them that they do not need the love of a man in order to have worth.

I know more women who actually had the baby instead of abortion because they had low self esteem, they thought that having the child would mean someone would be there for them. I'm a bio major and I have no illusions or misconceptions about what actually happens to the foetus so I have some mixed feelings on abortion as a whole. I don't know if I could ever be comfortable with having one (though as a gay woman I really don't think I'll ever need to unless of course I was raped), but I can't fault other women for having the procedure if they find themselves pregnant and without the financial, mental, emotional, or physical means to birth and care for a child.

I also have a memory from the hospital, I remember a flash and seeing what looked like a woman standing there.

@Politicallyactive101 There are some people out there who aren't that well informed or reasonable about their convictions, but the same could definitely be said for those who are pro choice. Do you honestly think the population and demographics on this issue is so cleanly split between the educated and the poorly educated, with only a few fringe people crossing over? If you really can't see the difference between the execution of a convicted murderer and an unborn child; that says quite a lot.
Unbelievable how pathetic and mindless they are. Following what they think is moral just because it seems moral when they dont take the time to actually take into consideration why it isnt illegal and what would happen if it was illegal which would be unstable families, depressed/troubled kids, kids would likely go on to commit crime. If abortion was made illegal itd ruin my life and my relationship. So people should mind their own fucking business and not force shit on other people.
These people are clearly not educated on what they are speaking about. Years protesting anti-abortion campaigns bitching about how its problem and yet they never once stopped to think of the solution. Want change but dont want to do the work themselves. Its hard to think these people holding larger than lifesize photos of dead fetuses saying "god brought them there and that god made them do this", are doing the right thing. And yet we, the ones that make our own decisions are murderers.
Sure, idiots say "oh well they made the mistake they have to live with it" but is giving birth to a child that you dont want or cant raise or got from rape really a good idea? There are fates worse than death. The child would become troubled and the streets would become even more dangerous because of unstable families/households that result from abortion being illegal. And abortion is done in the most humane way possible, so if its illegal and you need one? Things wont be pretty.
When is abortion used wrong. Its used for rape victims, for when teenagers have kids and wouldnt be able to support them, when the child would be born with an extreme disability that could make them depressed or suicidal, hookers/strippers use them but thats for the better because a hooker wouldnt make a suitable parent. So tell me when it is used improper. Its ALWAYS for the better. Abortion is a difficult thing to do and when it is done its done with a good reason.
Its fine to think its wrong and shouldnt be done. So dont do it yourself. Dont go and force laws that could ruin someone elses life. What if you were raped and got pregnant and abortion was illegal? What if you have been dating someone for many years and want to have sex but dont want kids. You cant have sex because you might get pregnant and would have to have the kid? What you think is wrong is your business. Dont go forcing it on other people when it can easily ruin many lives.

As it is known for a fact that over 2/3 of all miscarriages and spontaneous abortions are natural, and to a theist the natural is the purview of god, then god is responsible for those abortions. If life begins at conception, the means that anyone who has a miscarriage is guilty of murder or at least manslaughter. Everyone knows that most pregnancies end in miscarriage. For women to get pregnant in spite of this is reckless disregard for human life. For that matter it's also murder to have children in general. Every person who is born will eventually die. I have had an abortion and I do not think any jail time can compete with the pain and regret I live with every single day. I don't think abortion should be legal. I will not shame anyone for choosing it but I urge women to really research abortion before opting for one.I think we as a country need to focus on educating our youth about contraceptives. @jessesgurrrl are you daft? protection is not 100% effective. Yes there are women and girl who get pregnant because no protection was used but it's usually because the protection didn't work. I know more women who actually had the baby instead of abortion because they had low self esteem, they thought that having the child would mean someone would be there for them. Risky behaviour doesn't mean you don't value yourself.
My solution is keep abortion legal. Let women make their own damn choices.

I'm a bio major and I have no illusions or misconceptions about what actually happens to the foetus so I have some mixed feelings on abortion as a whole. I don't know if I could ever be comfortable with having one (though as a gay woman I really don't think I'll ever need to unless of course I was raped), but I can't fault other women for having the procedure if they find themselves pregnant and without the financial, mental, emotional, or physical means to birth and care for a child.

When the abortion is performed the child should be anesthetized.
I don't know about all, but I have memories from in the womb and I know I would've felt pain because I was aware of my own body.
My brain was functioning.
I have many memories formed before age 2, my family knows this.
I only learned recently that it's uncommon.

When is abortion used wrong. Its used for rape victims, for when teenagers have kids and wouldnt be able to support them, when the child would be born with an extreme disability that could make them depressed or suicidal, hookers/strippers use them but thats for the better because a hooker wouldnt make a suitable parent.
