  • Hello again! I just so many questions, forgive me. Do you think you can do a tutorial on how to throw taller vessels such as this one? I'm sure a lot of the same rules apply but i do see many differences in the way you throw large amounts of clay like this and i'm just dying for some explanations so i can throw tall and large too! Thank you very much! You are my inspiration.

  • you use so little water when throwing, I am trying to use less after watching. You have an eye for beautiful form. Thanks for sharing. When throwing tall do you use firmer clay?

  • I've never seen that right hand grip before- did you find this was the best way for you? Would you recommend it for others?

I've been watching your videos for a few days are really now- finding so much to learn. Thanks again.

  • soy argentino , admiro su trabajo, este jarro es en gres ? c¨°?

  • Have you ever considered the possibility of taking on an apprentice?

  • @slotho122 No, I am not doing production so I don't need an apprentice.

  • Hsin,

At the very top of your tall vase, there is a horizontal lip, maybe 1.25"in diameter. It appears... but the video does not show how to make it and I struggle with this part.

I love your work and have learned alot from them. Please advise. Thanks dorie

  • @doriecronin Hi Dorie, Have you watch my video #15, #30, #36? These videos use the same technique to throw small lips. Please type "mypots.net" to search those videos.

  • Hsin,

Can you please show how you do the top, flat plane? Thanks, I appreciate your expertise.

  • @doriecronin I don't quite understand the term "flat plane". Can you describe more detail of the "shape" or "technique"?

  • if only I could throw without a splashpan like that!

  • this is truly inspiring. Thanks!

  • dude your kneading technique blew my mind :0

  • what stoneware do you use to throw with?

  • @slurpeejerky711 The stoneware clay is called T-2 and it's from the Silicon Valley clay supplier. I mixed it with Laguna Clay Co.'s B-Mix about 2 to 1 ratio.

  • And the shirt is still stainless!!! Amazing.

  • Thank you for your clear, comprehensive tutorials, I've already learned so much from you!

This clip deals with one of the most challenging forms for me - I've never succeeded to throw a really tall form without making it crooked , out of center and heavy like hell. After this, I hope I'll have better results but it's going to take some time for a piece that big.

  • very well done....nice works..
