great video !!!im not really into rigging so would like to ask how did you animate the flat tyres ,with blend shape?how the wheels follow the allterrain surface, do you use scripts for that or simply animate?
i would really like to know how you did this....i am a a cinema4d noob :P and i'm not familiar with character riggin and such yet.....is this a simulation or keyframe animation?i also love rock crawlers and i recently tried to make one on cinema 4d but it's not going that well
Manitou - it's written - after the creation of Man - that it was said: "Look, Man has become like one of us..." Certainly, Man was given the power to create. It's not his, though, but just a gift, for now. Thanks for posting, and wish you success in your future projects.
Awesome, I created a rig too, not as good at yours but I actually used your wheels as reference when modeling mine, go on my channel to find it. it's the only one there, I would send a link but youtube didn't allow it
hi, I've watched this car rig over and over again because it's so realistic, but one thing that I've been longing to know for so long is how do you simply get the wheels to roll. does it require some programming? I don't use maya but your response will give some insight
Can you send me approx measurments for part used in this? I'm not to sure if your program will allow you though. I am interested to build a real life version of your buggy, very good design concept.
BLOODY BUEATY MATE WHAT PROGRAM DID YOU DO THAT ON NEED MORE INFO ON WHAT SORT OF MOTOR AND TRANSMITION AND HOW IT ALL FITS IN SEEMS TO HAVE HEEPS OF POTENTSHOL THOW
i've just been researching how to rig my robot and came across your stuff, i'm completely blown away! it makes me feel like i should just quit using maya because i'll never be this good!
did you use any hair dynamics in this rig to make it bounce along the motion path? i'd be really interested to find out. i've only been using maya under a year and was trying to create the same effect a while ago. i ended up using hair to get the bounce effect on my suspension but it got a bit too complicated.
Manitou, just awesome. It's a really nice video and concept. I'm an Intermediate Maya user and I've been looking sooo long for rigging tutorials for cars, but with no luck. ¿Could you tell me about any good tutorial on that? I would really appreciate that. Good job and keep it up!!
very nice rig and easy to use (motion path) gives a great result! build the rig by yourself by locators and springs 'n stuff or used a plugin? please tell me i would like to build my own. i used maya years ago for fun and always wanted this! THX in advance!
Thats very cool - I see youve got universal joints and pistons in there, tell me how much of this is dynamically driven and how much is scripting? If this rig is entirely dynamic then you are truly the king.
this is a testament to ones dedication and love of mechanical systems and a desire to learn the tools to make ideas come to life.
you are an example of the type of person everyone should emulate. you expect nothing but perfection from yourself and reject the "just good enough attitude"
to those who view this video, if you want to be great you must live, breath and think about that you love and you will be an expert in your field and in the top 10 percent in pay
great job! i would love to get my hands on that for a few hours!! any chance you would pass on the rig?? all rights reserved of course!!! great job again man keep it up!
