My high school is doing this for a musical and it is by far my favorite musical I have seen. The issue we are having is people didn't really show up to auditions because many people at our school are calling this musical "Sac-religious" and many people are upset. Have any of you ever had this problem?
@kikren Yes -- you are experiencing nothing new. When the play first came out, and then the movie, both were very controversial. Many Christians felt it was disrespectful of the Book of Matthew. What I am seeing now is that my parents' generation (now in their 70's) and young people (now in high school) seem to sharing a lot of views about religion, social state and spirituality. Those in between (me - 52 y/o) still find beauty in unconventional expressions of love and faith.
@PhantomsSecretLover No, this is the broadway version from ten years ago or something.... i came here looking for the same thing haha... i read that the soundtrack with the current performers will be coming out some time in january..

@kikren We are as well. Some of our best actors could or would not try out because they or their parents believed it was making fun of Christianity.
