  • The Disney Archives claimed that the original film master was damaged beyond repair. However, I can't seem to find the Disney archives website anywhere.

  • I watched this last night. I had been looking for it for years and years, but had forgotten the name of it. I only had the memory of the ghost in my head and came across this by chance. I was five years old when this came out...

  • That poor old coot is mistaking Alexander for Danny from 'The Shining.'

  • #1 I haven't seen this movie in 20 years. For some reason I thought about it so I had to look for it. #2 I have that Sleeping Beauty VHS tape... LOL!!! Along with all the old "Cartoon Classics". The VHS tapes in the gold cases. Donald, Goofie, Mickey & Pinocchio. I want to rip em to DVD (or Divx) and upload them (since they are no longer for sale). Does anyone know what would be the best way to do this?

  • I would have been 7 when I saw this on TV. It took me so long to find out the name of this movie. Thanks for posting!!!

  • Thanks for posting this classic from my childhood. Brings back memories of watching Disney on Sunday nights.

  • This is what Disney used to be until it turned to the shallow, teeny-bopper obsessed, money chaser it is today. I miss this kind of entertainment.

  • Watched this on Disney tv show in the 70's

  • Thank you thank you thank you... i used to love this movie.

  • I have this on DISNEY VHS (white clamshell) but a lot easier to watch here. This WATCHER IN THE WOODS and SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES were fine entries in the genre. When a movie began with a family driving their station wagon up to an old house they just bought or inherited you pretty much expected there to be a scary caretaker. Now that I think of it I think my VHS copy crunched up last time I rewound it.

  • i sampled this

  • I haven't seen this movie since I was a little girl. I loved it..thanks for posting it.

  • It's a good movie... nothing like the book it was based off of, but still, great movie for its time!

  • disney use to be sooo good

    Thank you !!

  • BEST MOVIE EVER! I loved the story. IT's based on a book and I'd love to read it, but I can't find it. IF anyone knows how to get a copy I'd appreciate it.

  • @clickgal the book is called the ghosts i have been by richard peck.. its amazing i read it a million times.. u'd have to look in librarys and used book stores

  • @clickgal the name of the book is "The Ghost Belonged to Me" by Richard Peck. Amazon has it. I just picked up at my local library. I used to live in the town where they filmed the movie - Danville, KY. Danville is an awesome town and should get more films coming its way. In fact my "Sunset Summer" hopes to shoot there as early as summer 2011!!

You might want to check you library, if amazon or other site doesn't do it. Hope that helps. It's very well written!!

  • Thanks for uploading this I've been trying to find it on DVD but Disney hasn't released it in years. Remember seeing when I was a little girl in grade school and the teacher taped it off the tv at halloween time and let us watch it. Thanks!

  • also, that is Violet Beaueregard, (who turned into a blueberry), from the original Charlie & the Chocolate Factory!

  • wow! i've remembered this movie my whole adult life, and never knew what it was, only remembered a ghost and the 'frere jacques' song! thanks!

  • I have looked for this movie for years. I loved it when I was a child. Wish Disney would put it on DVD or something.

  • You're a legend!!!! I've been wanting to see this for years. I've never seen it before.

  • Thank you so much for posting this! I have been looking for it. This movie scared me too when I was a kid.

  • I've been looking for this for a long time now. Found it by mistake, while I was looking for something else. Someone had post a search for the Ghost in the well. I Always thought this movie was called that being that the last time i saw it, I was 10 when it first aired in 77. I will be downloading this and converting it to dvd so I can watch it over and over. Many thanks.

  • THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for posting this movie! :)

  • I have been looking for it to without any hope. I even contacted Disney but of course no one has answered. It is on amazon and ebay for alot of money anywhere from $24.00 to 198.00+ for used ones/

  • You are awsome!!!!! I have looked for almost 30 years for this movie. Thanks so much! Your the best!!!

  • i would give anything to have a copy of this!!

  • You rock!!!! thanks a lot

  • The books are way better. Pretty Scary for children's books. Don't get the new cover edition unless you can't find the early '70s version with the creepier covers. Good stuff. There are like 4 books including Blossom traveling into the future. Once you read those try John Bellairs.

  • I'm yet another one who saw this as a child and loved it. I couldn't recall the title. All I remembered was the girl, the doll, the well and the diamonds. Thanx 4 posting.

  • I just realised thats violet from willy wonka and the chocholate factory!

  • This movie use to be at hollywood video but now that all the vid stores have switched over to dvd you can't find rare gems like this anymore I also read the blossom Culp books There is The Ghost Belonged to me which this movie is based off, then there is the Ghost I've been. Blossom Culp and the Dreadful Future and then there is another one I forgot the name but I know I still have the book somewhere all by Richard Peck who also wrote Amanda Miranda

  • and the other one is Blossom Culp and the sleep of death luckily you can still find these books at the public Library

  • I saw this like 20 yrs ago when I was just a kid. Barely remember much of it. This takes me back.

  • Omg thank you! my dads been looking for this for so long now he can watch it :) i wish i could find a dvd for him

  • OMGOMGOM I found the titleout for this film. Last time I watched this was 6 or 7!THANK YOU SOOO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS - I COULDN'T FREAKING FIND IT ANYWHERE cos no one seemed to know what it is and now I know what its called I cantfind it anywhere to buy!

  • There are I think 4 on Ebay now. Type in Disney Child of Glass.

  • You are freaking AMAZING for uploading this!!!! I loved this as a kid....even though it scared the crap out of me! The last time I saw it was on the Disney Channel when I was about 8 years old....back when the Disney Channel wasn't complete tripe....Anyway, I've been looking for it for ages!! Thank you so much for this!! Made my day!!!

  • @oasisongbird

Isn't it amazing what use to scare us, and what scares kids now. They show everything now, all blood and guts. I remember what scared me the most what the things I didn't see.

  • You rock for posting this! You should send your copy to Disney so they can restore it and bring to DVD!!

  • I read two of the Blossom books decades ago. Now I want to find the whole set. They were great stories. This is an ok adaption, but the books are WAY better.

  • Hey I did not know this was an adaptation. Is it under the same name? Def gonna hunt these down!

  • Look for "Ghosts I have been" and "The ghost belonged to me" both by Richard Peck. He wrote more books, but I don't know their titles.

  • Hey thanks for the email i will look for it online, i am sure I can find it. Thanks for th heads up

  • This movie is based off of Richard Peck's books, This is an adaptation of The Ghost belonged to me , The books are so much better, and they take place around the early 1900's There is other books in the series , The Ghost I've been, Blossom Culp and the Sleep of death and Blossom Culp and the dreadful future all are excellent just check out Richard Peck who also did Amanda Miranda

  • Thanks for posting this

  • yesssss!!!!!! i remember this!!!!

  • Oh, wow! YouTube now officially has everything.

This was one of my first "scary" movies, and after that I went right out and borrowed all the Richard Peck books from the library. What the movie doesn't tell you is that they are all from Blossom's point of view.
