Because that's generally the hand that somebody is using while using the Wiimote. This has caused controversy with left handed people and Zelda fans, but didnt bug me one damn bit.
In fact, this was the very video that they got a peek at during the interview when it was released as the next project. This is supposed to be a depiction of how a battle with the Gohma would have gone vs how it went during the NES days. I'm hoping they follow through with the idea, as if I remember correctly, nothing is set in stone yet.
Just for those who don't read/have access to Nintendo Power, it's been stated that the HD Zelda for the Wii U is going to be a remake of the original game. Yes, the very first LoZ game.

@PanBelacqua well its already known that the Wiimotes will be able to be used in Wii U games. It's possible the Zelda Wii U game could feature a control option for those who like motion controls and for those who want the traditional controls.
Zelda is the first game that appealed to me like I felt magnificence and courage

@StoneButterflys My best guess is that thanks to the controller screen, we won't have any clutter on the screen like hearts, rupees or magic meter, so it'll make for a refreshingly cinematic experience. Plus the screen could also function as our inventory, meaning any item or weapon we need will just be a tap away instead of having to pause and pull up a menu and select it with the control stick each time we need something.

Nintendo needs to quit resorting to hand-drawn animations... They look so cheesy and fake. Given the higher level of visual fidelity with the WiiU, a more realistic Zelda game better release within the first year.

I had an open mind for Skyward ever since Wind Waker surprised me. I was skeptical as hell about WW's cartoonish look - the game ended up being my favorite Zelda of all. I've been playing Skyward though, and I have to say, I do not like the visuals at all. It's unimpressive; looking at TP, if I hadn't known the release dates, TP looks like the more recent Zelda. I am very pleased that they went with TP's style for this, and I'm pretty sure this demo has been confirmed as a real game. :D

@CrystalKirby19 Sure graphics aren't everything, but Zelda having graphics like TP is pretty cool in my opinion. Yeah, graphics shouldn't be the main part of our focus while playing an amazing game lik WW, but the graphics shouldn't be bothersome to the point of which we notice it.
Graphics look better than Xbox 360/PS3. But sadly this generation has mostly graphic fags that only care about real looking stuff on games... Its not like it always matters.

I agree. However, this is the way I see it: If a game is released on a console with the capability to produce amazing HD graphics, I kind of expect the game to have good graphics. That's the reason I don't bash on the Wii for being a generation behind in graphics.

this link is identical to the one in TP, I compared them. there's only adjustment in the hair. it's the same with our gohma here. what I'm trying to say is despite the beauty of this tech-demo, it doesn't show even half of what WiiU. the Wii can produce this without the HD display.

I had an open mind for Skyward ever since Wind Waker surprised me. I was skeptical as hell about WW's cartoonish look - the game ended up being my favorite Zelda of all. I've been playing Skyward though, and I have to say, I do not like the visuals at all. It's unimpressive; looking at TP, if I hadn't known the release dates, TP looks like the more recent Zelda. I am very pleased that they went with TP's style for this, and I'm pretty sure this demo has been confirmed as a real game. :D

@CrystalKirby19 Sure graphics aren't everything, but Zelda having graphics like TP is pretty cool in my opinion. Yeah, graphics shouldn't be the main part of our focus while playing an amazing game lik WW, but the graphics shouldn't be bothersome to the point of which we notice it.

Graphics look better than Xbox 360/PS3. But sadly this generation has mostly graphic fags that only care about real looking stuff on games... Its not like it always matters.

@Cobac So they recorded the same video 6 different times? That's a little ridiculous. Three different camera angles and two different light levels. It's plausible it wasn't real-time, but too many people have said it was for it not to be.

Tech demos are always JUST that a tech demo of what the system -->CAN<-- do and wont necessarily actually BE like that, I mean we all saw the old Zelda Gamecube tech demo of Link fighting ganondorf but then did we getone like that? No we got Wind Waker. Besides those graphics are badass n all but they dont look real. I mean I cant explain it yes it IS HD but thats all it is HD. SS felt good because it was like watching an anime it felt real.

I agree. However, this is the way I see it: If a game is released on a console with the capability to produce amazing HD graphics, I kind of expect the game to have good graphics. That's the reason I don't bash on the Wii for being a generation behind in graphics.

@Giratina5678 it really doesnt look better. ps3/360 could do these graphics as well. i really couldnt give 2 shits about graphics, even if the graphics where fucking cartoon or cell shaded like wind waker it would be good, just as long as its in HD and has nice edges instead of jagged ones like on wii and with better textures. idgaf if it look realistic or not, thats what graphics fuckers care about....
