Look..FISA was enacted after Nixon... it was a bill already in place... did you forget that?????
Telecom civil immunity is nothing... they are not immune from criminal action...
However... IMHO.. BUSH usurped FISA when he declared "martial law" to the telecoms... they are not to blame.... Bush is to blame.. HE DESTROYED our 4th amendment..
Now, quit hacking on Obama for this.... you radical liberals are what make our party crazy in the press......
Amy Holmes is one of the biggest Right-Wing BITCHES on TV, and is completely unwatchable!!! (Almost, but not quite, in the same category as Ann Coulter!)
Obama's vote for the FISA Amendment of 2008 was a mistake.
First: Voting for the Amendment with Telecom immunity is the first mistake. He strongly opposed it, yet voted for a Bill that contained it.
Second: With outrage and accusations that the Bill is Unconstitutional, he should have voted against it unless there was unanimous agreement that the Bill, in fact, does not attack the Constitutional Right of Americans.
We can only wonder what pressure he was under to support this.
