Can someone religious (not just muslims) explain to me why people who believe in this kind of supernatural nonsense never seem willing to prove their claims? If they now are possessed by a specific jinn/demon/ghost/whatever, they could just go to a scientist or somesuch, and if their claims turn out to be true, the supernatural would finally be shown to be real.

I don't get what you mean by position, but interestingly enough, several people have died in the very room I sleep in. Even more so in the last house that I lived in, since it was kind of a retirement home for old people. No ghosts, no possessions, no nothing.
Question still remains: If it's such a fact of our reality, which we can even see by looking at possessed people, why doesn't anyone prove it? The one who does wins their religion billions of new believers.

Science obviously does not since the Big Bang retains its position as one of the best and most data-holding theories for the proliferation of matter in the universe. Logic is a fickle thing that works within lines of assumption, where religious logic is something quite different from scientific, evidence-based, logic.

And if you are already living a sinful nature, at times we do things, horrible things without thinking, I believe during those times we do get possessed by evil spirits or just fall short of not building a proper relationship with God, that demons can influence us so easily. Really scary, i had a cousin that had a jinn in her body, when my father, her father and the imam gathered to read the quran for her, i stood in the dooropenening because i was curious what was happening to her and i saw black smoke coming out of her head.
