  • UK households waste 6.7 mil. tonnes of food every year, around one third of the 21.7 mil. tonnes we purchase. Most of this food waste is currently collected by local authorities (5.9 million tonnes or 88%). The remaining 800,000 tonnes is composted by people at home, fed to animals or tipped

down the sink. Here is USA,which throws away 30x more food than UK. The starving problem can be easily solved.

What if they send that food to Africa? It would be great, wouldn't it? Everyone would be happy.

  • I wouldn't send any money to these 'charities'. Millions upon millions of 'poor' Africans are currently living in our countries; sponging off our benefits (which is why they come), flouting our laws and raping and killing our people.

Half of the money you give probably doesn't even go to a single child in Africa - this is true exploitation.

As horrible as this sounds - if Mother Nature is sick and needs humans to die, you've gotta die.

  • these people never stop - they want the shirt of your back

  • Not to be horrible or anything but... Don't charities get enough money to help? I mean thousands millions give to charity and you see all the charity shoes that raise upto £500,000 or $500,000 and that amount could feed and care for thousands right? So why is this still happening? :( why has this money not stopped this???

  • Why not get these videos sponsored?

Who wouldn't sit through ten minutes of advertisements if it could help starving adults and children?

  • the 2 people velow me are right the 3rd guy is me

  • UNICEF is a joke, any charity that promises to help those living in famine rarely achieve it. The money that is given to these charities is usually passed on to the country in need's government. Corrupt governments that use the cash not to save their starving population but to fund their own agendas, it's a never ending cycle of give and take, funded by the gullible population.

  • Last time we helped this shit hole they killed US troops so why bother?

  • I'll donate but where does my money go?

It goes to aid for the new world order.

I will take a trip to africa and I WILL CHANGE THEY'RE LIVES FOR GOOD.

  • why give money when we cant sustain are economy

  • It's good the uk are leading the relief effort

  • Yay I funded £35 to UNICEF

  • @MrMultifunc That will buy a corrupt warlord about 4 nice porky dinners.

  • But as this situation is a culmination in failed rains and hugely raised food prices, the situation has escalated requiring immediate and significant outside help. In all countries, including Somalia where many NGOs have had to stop working, UNICEF has had an uninterrupted partnership with Governments and local authorities as well as access to all areas of the country.

  • UNICEF works in partnership with both Governments and NGOs to support children. This crisis has of course been growing in scale since January, and in that time, and in fact long before, UNICEF and East African Governments have worked together to strengthen health systems and services maximising limited Government funding to try to reach children affected by malnutrition as early as possible, to get treatment underway and save lives.

  • This did not just happen overnight. Just what has the united nations been doing all this time?. Maybe they should spend some of the vast quantity of money they have on actually helping people. What about asking their friends the world bank and IMF to pay for aid instead of bleeding the world dry for a change.
