Pacquiao makes his four-five combos or as you may say upto eight combos, but he only does that if his punches where getting thru. He stops his combinations if he sees that his opponents evades it or blocks it or really not in trouble. Try to review the De la hoya fight, you'll see. That's why he went in the middle of the ring on that one moment when he cornered Dela Hoya, Pacman knows.
There is one moment that he cornered De la hoya yet Pacquiao didn't insisted on having into a killer mode, he went in the middle of the ring.
He only does the killer mode if he knows that his opponent is really in trouble, but if Cotto retaliates, expect that Manny would stop punching and put the fight in the middle of the ring.

Ruff, I'm picking Pacquiao by split decision because I think Manny is a smart fighter now. Before he used his speed and power to knocked people out but now he some what setting up his punches. watching Dela Hoyas fight.... Manny did'nt rushed. He will go back to the center of the ring eventhough Oscar was in the rope. I think Manny is more matured boxer now. If you look at manny's carrer he does'nt have many fights in amateur. i agree with you on the part of the body punches mr 97ruff. In the torres fight you noticed the way cotto got caught with punches even during his body punch attacks. Cotto needs to mix things up like in the zab fight and the clottey fight.

i think, it's not that manny doesn't know how to counter or box..i think he prefers to slug. in the 2nd barrera fight, he actually boxed and counter. he did very will with that. actually, barrera won a lot their exchanges there. manny used to just go forward. i think morales, barrera, and marquez forced him to learn how to box and improve his defense.
It was the same problem Marquez had with Mayweather. Marquez dropped his right to often and Mayweather capitalized on that mistake so fast. He immediately so the right dropping, hence the lead left hook when it did drop.
There's a good hole in Pacquiao when his coming in to finish you off. He's right hand drops when his going for the kill. If Cotto can time a perfect left hook, when Pacquiao drop his right hand, then it will be a long night for Pacquiao.

Try to review the De la hoya-Pacquiao fight or even the Hatton fight.
Pacquiao makes his four-five combos or as you may say upto eight combos, but he only does that if his punches where getting thru. He stops his combinations if he sees that his opponents evades it or blocks it or really not in trouble. Try to review the De la hoya fight, you'll see. That's why he went in the middle of the ring on that one moment when he cornered Dela Hoya, Pacman knows.

Pacquaio traps you because the opponent is either in trouble or just covering up like he did with Oscar. But the moment Cotto hits back, PAC is already gone. The only boxer that were able to do stand toe-to-toe is Marquez since he doesn't mind getting hit himself... But if Cotto backs is against the corner means PAC hurt him and/or he's just trying to cover up to rest. But we know Cotto does not rest against the ropes. This is what i saw. Cotto is good when he is moving forward.
All of his fight he is the one moving forward. That's the way he attack. When Pacman bring down Marquez is with his counter
When he knock down Morales is with his counter punch. With his fight with Dela Hoya,Diaz and hatton is all about his reflex , his fast hands and his fast eye. When pacman fight he see the punch that are coming. And pacman punch you can't see it coming. For Cotto to win you need to blind the Pacman.

Early last year, I was contemplating about these match up but I keep on telling myself that Cotto is way bigger and stronger than Manny. But now eventhough Manny is going up in weight, many boxing expert is giving pacquiao a chance (big chance) of winning. Ruff, I'm picking Pacquiao by split decision because I think Manny is a smart fighter now. Before he used his speed and power to knocked people out but now he some what setting up his punches. watching Dela Hoyas fight.... Manny did'nt rushed. He will go back to the center of the ring eventhough Oscar was in the rope. I think Manny is more matured boxer now. If you look at manny's carrer he does'nt have many fights in amateur. Thats why he is maturing late in the game of boxing.

i agree with you on the part of the body punches mr 97ruff. In the torres fight you noticed the way cotto got caught with punches even during his body punch attacks. Cotto needs to mix things up like in the zab fight and the clottey fight.

What a relief you posted your prediction, I am tired of reading forums where people just talk shit to each other. I'm torn on this fight because these are my 2 faves! It would be awesome for Cotto to KO Pac but I'd prefer Pac to win so he can make history, fight PBF & retire. i think, it's not that manny doesn't know how to counter or box..i think he prefers to slug. in the 2nd barrera fight, he actually boxed and counter. he did very will with that. actually, barrera won a lot their exchanges there. manny used to just go forward. i think morales, barrera, and marquez forced him to learn how to box and improve his defense.

It was the same problem Marquez had with Mayweather. Marquez dropped his right to often and Mayweather capitalized on that mistake so fast. He immediately so the right dropping, hence the lead left hook when it did drop.

English is taught but not used that much in the Philippines (depending on economic status). There are English expressions used in the Philippines that would make no sense or sound bad in an American context and vice versa. well, we call it slang. i remember when i was young in the philippines, i always talk to this chinese businessman and i was amazed how his Tagalog is so proper. It's soothing to listen because he uses proper grammars and words that's not used very often like "sapagkat" and "subalit". I think it's the same case here in the US.

i think since his style is a slugger plus that crazy foot work and body movement, it makes up for his OK defense. he exchanges a lot, which makes him open. same as cotto, same as morales, berto, mosley, margo, vasquez, rafael, etc...if we compare his defense against marquez and mayweather, of course we will think he has bad defense..the two guys who are often compared to him for the defense are strictly counterpunchers. i'll go for pac by a close decision...can't wait for the fight.

boxing has a lot of BS right now with multiple weight classes, multiple belt organizations, lineals, and other stuff that a boxer's accomplishments can be downgraded or upgraded. if a person doesn't believe in multiple weightclasses and only look at the original 8, both oscar and manny will only be a 3 division champion while floyd will be 2 division champion. the point is, a hater can degrade one's accomplishement, at the same time, the nuthugger can upgrade one's accomplishments.
