I bought yesterday 2 WD caviar blue (250gb) for make a RAID 0, i've got a Barracuda of 1 TB with all my documents and OS.

i'm not able to set raid via bios, i just got a Volume usable in my pc and the other disk is not allocated and i cannot allocate it. but that's not a RAID because HD tach record the nearly same data from the barracuda to the Volume ( and it can see the unallocated volume!)

i tryed using windows integrated Striping but it's slow!

its much much faster to do 2 500gb drives, and possibly cheaper (but that i'm not sure about). unfortunatley for him, if one goes down, he loses everything

@schmidtbag yeah, but basically is the same as having a single 1TB drive, but you take advantage of the fast speed. So if you see it that way theres no real problem, if one drive fails then both drives fail, if he had a 1TB drive, if it fails then it fails. So, its the same

not necessarily. not only would 2 drives be twice the performance (theoretically) but even though he would lose everything if 1 drive failed, he could still use the other one. if the 1tb drive failed, he'd lose everything and never get to use any of it, and it wouldn't be as fast

dude you need to do some cable management, thats why that case gets so dusty.. I had the Antec 1200 which I am in the process of selling. It got to be too much to maintain because its really designed for water coolering and to be modded. I went with the Coolermaster ATCS 840.. But to keep your sanity try doing something with those cables.

you have to be careful anyway don't put your important data on it until you are completely confident that it's really reliable.

You need to format it. RIght click Click Mange. (need to be an admin) then storage, disk management right click the second hdd (usually D:/ if primary hdd is C:/) then clcik format(format it to NTFS not FAT32/FAT if that option is avilable) then done. (Reboot if it doesn't appear)

They arent showing up because when hard disk come new they arent formatted. You can go to Computer Management > Disk Management in Vista and format them. Good luck!

The problem why they were not seen is that there was no partition setup on the array. Use Computer Management and creat a partition and then format the partition as Films4You said.
