@wojtuniakfrog A CD v-700 has a Geiger Meuller tube, so it can detect X-rays as long as they are strong enough and of enough intensity. An X-ray is the same thing as a gamma ray, essentially. Although, X-rays are often less powerful and harder to pickup. I typically find X-rays below 100 KeV. They cause my detector all sorts of issues lol
@wojtuniakfrog Are you looking for a CD v-700 because you want that specific unit, or are you just looking for a Geiger counter, in general? Also, might I ask, what is the concern over X-Rays?
I bought my unit for a good source on eBay, Hughescoinsandcollectables. They sell good units, fully refurbished.
@tornadomad On ebay, for about 60$ + shipment. But no, radiations are ridiculous at distance, not significatively different from normal level. You just have to not eat this mineral LOL
Wouldn't you get cancer by doing this without the suit?
I mean your next to a quite a bit of a motherfucking radioactive piece of material.
BTW great video

@DrStranger666
If he had very large quantities maybe, but with what's shown in the video he'd need to eat some of it to get cancer.

I have the same one, where did you get the speaker? Mine makes no noise.

Aww snap yo. You got that uranium, now all you need are some aluminum tubes and a poor 3rd world county and you would be set for life.

But I bought it a few years ago, and it's more expensive now, about 100$ a piece vs 4$ in 2005.

Very cool. My friend has a model just like that geiger counter.

After the seller it's Schroeckingerite: it contains about 30% of U3O8 so it isn't a major uranium ore but my sample is quite big.
darkdjo 2 years ago
I have bought it on eBay :)
