@derkdirtydiggler running and pushups will help you for BCT, everything else will be learned and is mostly mental. Stay focused and you will be ok.

@derkdirtydiggler this is true to a point..but i think it matters if your physically and mentally ready for it... def be in shape cuz u HAVE to pass the pt test or u don't graduate.

@Nogablitz19: Aren't National Guard and Reserve the only ones that get leave after graduation? Like, don't the active duty have to go to AIT the next day or something?

@JamezC007 no everyone gets leave, its usually around 14-17 days starting the day after graduation.

if i bring my laptop its just gonna get locked up during BCT i know this, and i have been told that it might be easier to just bring it and have it locked up and then have it rather than not and then having it shipped to AIT? what do you recommend ?

@aldena91 i would wait and have it shipped. In my company they threw everyones personal bags ontop of one another and locked them in a closet. I wouldnt risk it, but its your call. Plus, you'd have to take care of it through reception and stuff where they dont lock it up.

@aldena91 i would reccommend, if your not already there and done, but do bring your laptop. It will save time when you get to AIT because you will have to wait for it in shipping.

Yes, you should get between 10-14 days of leave after graduation. Everybody keep me posted on what company you go to, maybe you will have my Drill Sergeant. I still talk to him.

@runescapeswordshow you can have one after basic....in AIT.....not during basic training until the last day....at least that's how it was for me. That's also how it should be....BCT isn't a time for fun and socializing with friends back home.
