According to him he spent years looking for his first dogs and really good pitbulls were hard to find and not cheep. He said ne never used any meril dogs, brindle, red nosed dogs an only ever used one blue dog. when he started breeding game dogs he did it under another breeder who showed him the ropes.
The biggest reason that many disliked these new dogs was because the breeders were first generation breeders who were never even taken under a reputable breeders wing. Reputaion was everything back then but now you have a lot of first generation breeders who have never even worked in a kenel. Most Dog breeders hate it when there dogs become the IN DOG or Fad dog.

Oh the mutt agree was the name of the type of test not the dog. the dog was a verry nice american staffordshire terrier but american staffordshire terrier was not a option it was a genral test made for mutts in shelters to help with adoption. Yes there are good APBT breeding families but its simple math the mass cross breeding in the 80s and 90s had an exponential effect. How much APBT blood is pure breed 50%, 75%, 95%,99%,99.99%?
My grandfather helped breed for over 15 years and in his opinion the founders of RE were probably the most responsible type of cross breeders. Documenting using Dual registerd Amstaff/Pitbulls and using quality APBTs. Amstaff is basically the same DNA and is closer than APBT/Labrador or Bulldog mixes you see. Most people that have cross breed do not advertise it and just passed of their mutts as APBTs. They only let a select few know about it, usually people they trust.
My Grandfather worked for a APBT breeder in Texas like 60 years ago and he does not like the breed cus of all the mixing he saw back then. One example was the breeder he worked for brought in game tested Labradors to give his dogs more stamina and less likely to dehydrate. He also knew other breeders that used Rottweiler, Bull dog, Boston Terrir or liver nosed Labradors. Much of the mixing in game bread APBTS stopped when legal Dogfighting stopped in the US.
mixing those big ass breeds of dogs into the APBT way back then would have resulted in much larger dogs, less gameness, and more cold dogs. 60 years ago the dogs were not very big. it was hard to find dogs over 50 lbs back then. mixing in lab would be retarded, true APBTs already have more stamina than any lab ive ever seen, and boston terriers were a spin off of some smaller early bull and terriers brought over from england, from the same stock apbt came from.
Smaller dogs like the small APBTs. boston terrior, small labs and even beagles were used to bring the larger dogs back down. But most dogs could drop 1/3 of their weight when they were in fighting shape. The fighting weight the breeder he helped out has his dogs was at 40- 55 lbs but he would fatten them up for 1.5 years to 50-80 lbs depending on size before serous training occurred

the APBT is the breed of dog that has been cross breed the most. Why do you think most companies that DNA Test to check if dogs are pure breed do not test for APBT. My old Biotech professor advised one of them to not offer the APBT option since she concluded that over 65% of the registered APBTs they sampled were crossbreed within 5-10 generations. Good Razors Edge and game dogs Like Colby dogs are not cheep but sooo many puppy pedlers out there that is the real problem.
Those tests are bullshit no matter what the breed. Ive seen where those tests have been exposed as being a farce. DNA tests can barely decipher between wolf and dog. All they can really do is test a puppy to see if it came from the parents who they say it did. Theres a vid on here where a lady takes her AKC champ Am Staff and it comes back as mainly Border Collie mixed with Boston Terrier and a hair of bulldog. What a crock. I saw some ridiculous results on Dog Whisper with some tiny dog too.
I saw that video. That was a Mutt agree a cheap 35 dollar test. You get what you pay for. The better tests are a lot more expensive. That is also the problem since the Company my Professor advised only tested 300 APBT and just asked for registration and bloodline. They wanted to make a test that could hold up in court for countries like Great Britain with huge demand for them and wanted to make one fast. Most of my Knowledge of APBT breeding comes from my grandfather.

no one really knows what percentage of registered APBTs are mutts. There are a bunch of them out their but only a small small small fraction have been breed type dna tested with one of those inaccurate tests. There are plenty of true American Pit Bull Terriers out there though. Bloodlines that have been going on for decades bred by the same family or close circle of friends. Basically an APBTs registration or papers are only as good as the person who gave it to you.
I also see Razors Edge dogs in the paper for 150 bucks all the time. sometimes more of course but its not unusual to see them cheap. Hell our local rescue has a litter of blue bullies for a 75$ adoption. 99% of the people peddling Colby dogs dont have the real deal. Its just a way to sell dogs to dumb asses for the most part. Ive seen countless #s of people selling red nose Colby dogs. Problem is Colby dogs only have black noses. Lou said hes never seen a red nosed dog in his line in his life.
The sad thing is that the smaller or original style of apbt are a favorite in illegal dog fighting rings. These are far more common than you may think. They usually are held in farms or ranches a few hours from major urban cities where usually people or local law enforcement does not frequent. The low price of original APBT and the High Price of Bully Bloodlines make them a easier target.
no one wants to fight bully dogs anyways. they will quit or cur out. they are mix breed mongrels. all these dogs are either show type dogs from the adba or possible aadr or they are old pictures of famous game dogs that are long dead. and good game bred dogs are really not all that cheap. I see people in the newspapers peddling Razors Edge bullies for a couple hundred dollars all day long. For top quality match dogs you will be paying shit loads more or breed them yourself.

It's a crossbreed between the apbt x american staffordshire terrier x english mastiff or american bulldog if I'm correct. The biggest reason that many disliked these new dogs was because the breeders were first generation breeders who were never even taken under a reputable breeders wing. Reputaion was everything back then but now you have a lot of first generation breeders who have never even worked in a kenel. Most Dog breeders hate it when there dogs become the IN DOG or Fad dog.

My grandfather helped breed for over 15 years and in his opinion the founders of RE were probably the most responsible type of cross breeders. Documenting using Dual registerd Amstaff/Pitbulls and using quality APBTs. Amstaff is basically the same DNA and is closer than APBT/Labrador or Bulldog mixes you see. Most people that have cross breed do not advertise it and just passed of their mutts as APBTs. They only let a select few know about it, usually people they trust.

My Grandfather worked for a APBT breeder in Texas like 60 years ago and he does not like the breed cus of all the mixing he saw back then. One example was the breeder he worked for brought in game tested Labradors to give his dogs more stamina and less likely to dehydrate. He also knew other breeders that used Rottweiler, Bull dog, Boston Terrir or liver nosed Labradors. Much of the mixing in game bread APBTS stopped when legal Dogfighting stopped in the US.

mixing those big ass breeds of dogs into the APBT way back then would have resulted in much larger dogs, less gameness, and more cold dogs. 60 years ago the dogs were not very big. it was hard to find dogs over 50 lbs back then. mixing in lab would be retarded, true APBTs already have more stamina than any lab ive ever seen, and boston terriers were a spin off of some smaller early bull and terriers brought over from england, from the same stock apbt came from.

Smaller dogs like the small APBTs. boston terrior, small labs and even beagles were used to bring the larger dogs back down. But most dogs could drop 1/3 of their weight when they were in fighting shape. The fighting weight the breeder he helped out has his dogs was at 40- 55 lbs but he would fatten them up for 1.5 years to 50-80 lbs depending on size before serous training occurred

These dogs maybe be descended from old mastiffs or bull terrier crosses in spain, Endland, wherever but they arent the same dogs anymore. problem with that is they are often full of shit. Ive seen people doing the same and they are hardly ever true. Just because Jeep is in a pedigree 10 generations back(if at all) dosent make it a jeep dog and just because the name Colby appears in a pedigree once dosent make it Colby. Buying a real colby dog from Louis Colby is going to be costly unless he is a good friend. To get a good tightly bred jeep dog you either have to know people or youll have to pay. deals are out there though.

the APBT is the breed of dog that has been cross breed the most. Why do you think most companies that DNA Test to check if dogs are pure breed do not test for APBT. My old Biotech professor advised one of them to not offer the APBT option since she concluded that over 65% of the registered APBTs they sampled were crossbreed within 5-10 generations. Good Razors Edge and game dogs Like Colby dogs are not cheep but sooo many puppy pedlers out there that is the real problem.

Those tests are bullshit no matter what the breed. Ive seen where those tests have been exposed as being a farce. DNA tests can barely decipher between wolf and dog. All they can really do is test a puppy to see if it came from the parents who they say it did. Theres a vid on here where a lady takes her AKC champ Am Staff and it comes back as mainly Border Collie mixed with Boston Terrier and a hair of bulldog. What a crock. I saw some ridiculous results on Dog Whisper with some tiny dog too.

I saw that video. That was a Mutt agree a cheap 35 dollar test. You get what you pay for. The better tests are a lot more expensive. That is also the problem since the Company my Professor advised only tested 300 APBT and just asked for registration and bloodline. They wanted to make a test that could hold up in court for countries like Great Britain with huge demand for them and wanted to make one fast. Most of my Knowledge of APBT breeding comes from my grandfather.

no one really knows what percentage of registered APBTs are mutts. There are a bunch of them out their but only a small small small fraction have been breed type dna tested with one of those inaccurate tests. There are plenty of true American Pit Bull Terriers out there though. Bloodlines that have been going on for decades bred by the same family or close circle of friends. Basically an APBTs registration or papers are only as good as the person who gave it to you.

The sad thing is that the smaller or original style of apbt are a favorite in illegal dog fighting rings. These are far more common than you may think. They usually are held in farms or ranches a few hours from major urban cities where usually people or local law enforcement does not frequent. The low price of original APBT and the High Price of Bully Bloodlines make them a easier target.

listen i would say red nose pit is the top pitbull , why? because the can be so friendly but act agrresivly if it feels it being threaten or owner is thearten... so 10/10 for the red nose pitbull

You're probably talking about the backyard bred mutts called American Bullies. People tend to call them pitbulls but they're NOT. It's a crossbreed between the apbt x american staffordshire terrier x english mastiff or american bulldog if I'm correct. This video however displays the TRUE gamebred dog, which is the only dog that has earned the name 'pitbull'.

can anybody reccomend a good kennel to get dogs like THESE...im just lookin right now im plannin on gettin a dog in like 9 mos. when i get my own place but im just learnin up..but all the kennels i find on the internet got that bully look..i like the lean athletic dogs.

i would say caragan kennels they specialize in the old skool look with red & black pits one of the best to me so check them out. i have to tell you they don't run cheap if you want a 100% full blooded pittbull

yeah, but they breed only the "look" of the original apbts not the gameness of the original apbts, there are some breeders which breed for both look and gameness.
