I was just introduced to this song with a Lew Stone- Al Bowlly cover. I had a suspicion that Bing Crosby would do wonders with it. Any idea when it was recorded - it sounds like it was during Bing's Brunswick years? Thanks for posting!
from the 1933 musical comedy "TOO MUCH HARMONY" Bing was supplied with a nice score by Arthur Johnston and Sam Coslow that contained two of his early film hits, "THANKS" and "THE DAY YOU CAME ALONG".
Thanks for bring back one of the greatest balladeers of my--or any subsequent--generation. Am sending this to my granddaughter who has heard me attempting to sing this in years past!
I was introduced to this song by a version sung by Mel Torme which is superior to this one, although I am unable to find that rare recording now.
