  • She's repeating what you can read in a text book; not speaking from her own understanding of what she's talking about. That's schooled learning; as oppose to unschooled learning. Read Ivan Illich.

  • So potential energy is based on environmental factors? Because if you had an apple in the middle of empty space too far for any objects gravity to affect, and was neither accelerating nor moving.. it would be said to have neither potential or kinetic energy correct?

  • @all0thernamesrtaken They make it too hard. These things are taught by repeating what you find in a text book, which are really just reference books. Everything has potential energy, from the right point of view. If the earth caves in beneath you, you're going to fall. But, they like to say, "you did work on the rock". This makes it sound like the only way to have potential energy is to "do work on something". The work you did happens to be a convenient way to measure the potential energy.

  • @all0thernamesrtaken additional: An apple in deep space has potential energy in terms of something that may act on it; if you come along and bump it. Usually, PE refers to work that's already been done. The imbalance of electrons between the two poles of a battery, chemical work that put electrons on one pole and a deficiency on the other. Or a rock that was hoisted to a roof top. PE always comes up in these situations, but anything "potentially" has energy.

  • America is getting dumber by watching TV and eating fast food. Its part of the NWO I'm thinking.

  • @joviedo21 Does using the TV for educational purposes count?

  • I learned more potential knowledge in this 8:51 clip, than I did watching an hours worth of watching MTV. It's startin' to look like everybody wants to be a entertainer and have a reality show.

  • This is the fourth comment lolololol
