For Go9d so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Jesus provided salvation for his mother Mary, for me, for Donny and for men and women of any and every faith but .. . it is only by believing in him that we have eternal life. and the Him is Jesus, Christ of the New Testament and the one the whole Old Testament points to as the coming annointed one, redeemer and Savior. He came to save the world not to condemn it.
I find no scripture that supports the Mormon doctrine that is quoted earlier - Adam did not become God and God was not Adam nor will any man become God. From Isaiah "I am the LORD, and there is no other ...there is no other God" "It is I who made the earth and created mankind upon it....and there is no God apart from me, a righteous God and Savior there is none but me." It is having the things of men and Satan that supports any other form of God then the God of the Old and New Testament.

Jesus said "Get behind me Satan" It is not just knowing who Christ is it is "having in mind the things of God" not men. From Hebrews - The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaing all things. Jesus is not an angel for angels are ministering spirits for those who will inherit salvation - Jesus, alone, provides Salvation to men!
I found Donny's version when I was looking for the song for our Navajo churcn. Read some of the old posts and had a comment to make on the discussion. Only God knows who is really a Christian. You can go to a Mormon church and be a Christian but what makes the difference comes from a question Jesus asked His disciples. Who do you say I am?
@sseper1 what you may not realize is that in another launguage...X in a literal translation means christ...this is how the word christmas was originally shortened. No one was trying to be sacreligous (not sure that's spelled right)...they were simply writing it in a way their family would understand what the holiday was about.

Yes they are all perfect and having that singular will and purpose falls in line with that belief. Think of it as identical triplets. @YeahRightInc I have a honest question about you belief, I am not trolling you. I am honestly wondering. I take it that you believe that the trinity is perfect (infinitely knowing, infinitely good, infinitely merciful, etc) If this is the case how can they have different will? Wouldn't be the same if they are all perfect? The only way to say that they have separate wills is to say that they disagree about something. One of them would by definition be better than another making them imperfect.
@johndavidryan I can answer this, this is easy. When Christ was on earth he was a man and within this framework was given the choice to freewill. So it wasn't the God side that had it's disagreement but human side. As the Last Adam he must have had this or he couldn't be the last Adam because it would have been unfair to let the first Adam be given freewill but not the last. So your hang up is not with the God part, but the human part. So he wasn't tempted for his sake, but ours. Heb 2:18; 4:15

@1anonly31 Actually the Bible only says that ONCE, in Revelations. And it refers only to that book. Otherwise most of the New Testament would heresy because John wrote Revelation, including that verse, before many of Paul's epistles, as well as James, 1 Peter, 2 Peter and Jude.

Mormons pray to Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ. Mormons believe that Christ will return to the earth. Mormons do not believe that Mormons are the only ones who will be saved, fyi, anyone who embraces Christ regardless of religious title on this earth will be saved.

I do repent my sins but being a Latter Day Saint isn't a sin so there's no need to repent of it. Regarding Neil's book, I'm sure it's well intended. For Go9d so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Jesus provided salvation for his mother Mary, for me, for Donny and for men and women of any and every faith but .. . it is only by believing in him that we have eternal life. and the Him is Jesus, Christ of the New Testament and the one the whole Old Testament points to as the coming annointed one, redeemer and Savior. He came to save the world not to condemn it.

I find no scripture that supports the Mormon doctrine that is quoted earlier - Adam did not become God and God was not Adam nor will any man become God. From Isaiah "I am the LORD, and there is no other ...there is no other God" "It is I who made the earth and created mankind upon it....and there is no God apart from me, a righteous God and Savior there is none but me." It is having the things of men and Satan that supports any other form of God then the God of the Old and New Testament.

Peter said the Christ but a few paragraphs later he rebukes Jesus for saying he was going to suffer, die and raise again. Jesus said "Get behind me Satan" It is not just knowing who Christ is it is "having in mind the things of God" not men. From Hebrews - The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaing all things. Jesus is not an angel for angels are ministering spirits for those who will inherit salvation - Jesus, alone, provides Salvation to men!

You can go to a Mormon church and be a Christian but what makes the difference comes from a question Jesus asked His disciples. Who do you say I am?

@sseper1 what you may not realize is that in another launguage...X in a literal translation means christ...this is how the word christmas was originally shortened. No one was trying to be sacreligous (not sure that's spelled right)...they were simply writing it in a way their family would understand what the holiday was about.

Yes they are all perfect and having that singular will and purpose falls in line with that belief. Think of it as identical triplets. As for the trinity. That is God in 3 forms.
God cannot look upon sin as he told Moses. Moses wanted to see God's face. But God said that you can see me after I pass by. God put a blinder over Moses' eyes until he passed by and removed them for Moses to see the back of God. Also when Jesus became our sacrificial lamb; God was with Jesus up until the last moments of his death when Jesus took our sins upon Himself. Jesus died alone as God could NOT look upon sin.

Had to chuckle at the comment about Donnie not being on radio or TV because he's not Christian. His first TV appearance was in 1962. He was 5 years old at the time and he won Dancing with the Stars in 2009..47 years later. Solo and with sister Marie he's been on TV constantly. He once sold 80 million records in a single year. He still records solo and with his sister. You've made your anti-mormon prejudice clear. It's fine to put down facts as you see them but try to make them facts.

Holy smokes I come to listen to Donnie sing and find all this? Mormons don't deny the trinity we just have a different interpretation of it. We believe they are 3 separate beings with a singular will and purpose. The bible is one of our books of scripture and I suggest you read it. Find where John baptizes Jesus. (Matthew 3:17) The voice of God is heard saying "this is my Son in whom I am well pleased". Meanwhile Jehovah is in the water with John. What does that tell you? Merry Christmas

@YeahRightInc I have a honest question about you belief, I am not trolling you. I am honestly wondering. I take it that you believe that the trinity is perfect (infinitely knowing, infinitely good, infinitely merciful, etc) If this is the case how can they have different will? Wouldn't be the same if they are all perfect? The only way to say that they have separate wills is to say that they disagree about something. One of them would by definition be better than another making them imperfect.

@johndavidryan I can answer this, this is easy. When Christ was on earth he was a man and within this framework was given the choice to freewill. So it wasn't the God side that had it's disagreement but human side. As the Last Adam he must have had this or he couldn't be the last Adam because it would have been unfair to let the first Adam be given freewill but not the last. So your hang up is not with the God part, but the human part. So he wasn't tempted for his sake, but ours. Heb 2:18; 4:15

They operate in high position within the government and the so called "true" church has over 5 billion in revenue. Yet they are non Christ who has defaced the name of Jesus Christ and polluted the gospel. Joseph Smith has copied from the bible almost word for word and when he did not he change and added to the scripture.

@1anonly31 Actually the Bible only says that ONCE, in Revelations. And it refers only to that book. Otherwise most of the New Testament would heresy because John wrote Revelation, including that verse, before many of Paul's epistles, as well as James, 1 Peter, 2 Peter and Jude.
If you want to quote the Bible, you should be familiar with it first.
