As usual, great walkthrough. If you don't get the red ring, is Princess Zelda's outfit different as well? I beat the game for the first time yesterday and regret picking up the red ring, since it's not at all needed to defeat Ganon and makes Link look far too much like Mario. But at least with Link, I know what he looked like without the red ring.

These are all pieces (triangles, three sides) of the Triforce of Wisdom (which is also a triangle). The Triforce of Power is received for defeating "Gannon" and the Triforce of Power is in the next game (Adventure of Link). The repetition of threes and also the virtues they represent is based on myths and legends from the Shinto religion in Japan. From what it's based off of, it's actually a quite fitting name.

The ONE problem that I had playing this back when I was a kid, was without somesort of guid, which I didnt have, how and the FUCK were you supposed to figure this stuff out? How many years of wondering around would it take to find all those secret doors that you HAVE to find by trial and error. My buddy had Nintendo Power but I didnt and I felt like that was kinda cheating anyway. Still love the game...just sayin.

@rutgerultimate No, when your magic wand is upgraded you will have no further use for the candles because the magic wand shoots the wave thing along with a flame that lights up the room. In other words, the Powered Up Wand serves as both weapon and candle. Oh and no, there is no limit to how many times you can use it.

Well, that and the Ocarina of Time Master Quest are both not really a priority right now compared to other games in the series (Oracle of Seasons, Oracle of Ages, The Minish Cap). Also, the guy who did the First Quest walkthrough is no longer on staff, so it would entail someone who's currently working on other projects to stop what he/she's doing to work on that. Eventually, yes, we do have plans of doing that as well.

It allows you to push certain blocks outside of dungeons. One of the bigger benefits is that it allows you to access certain hidden staircases that act as warp points to quickly get from one side of Hyrule to the other.
