  • Q: I'm using "optical audio out" from TV so TV sound and Home Theatre sound are independent. So when i am watching a movie off XBOX (HDMI-in to TV) and use home theatre for sound, and change volume on remote does it change Home theatre volume or TV volume?

Q: Also can i program remote to automatically decrease TV volume to 0 when pressing "WATCH MOVIE" so the only sound i hear streams thru"optical audio out" to Home Theatre?

  • @infamouskid2010 When programming your remote, it will ask you questions about where you want the sound to come from for each activity. So for Watch Movie you will select Home Theater System and the volume controls will then be associated with your receiver and not the TV. As for the muting the TV, I don't believe it does it automatically but you can create a sequence to mute and assign it to any button that you have free on the remote such as a colored button and it will mute the TV volume.

  • @MRstageManager2000 WOW, taht was fast :D thanks a lot for your help

  • Q: how do i use this thing to change t

  • Q: How do i use this thing if i want to play my ps3 i have it hooked

  • Q: when you lose power, or replace batteries, do you have to reprogram anything/everything?

  • @nomusician A: No, When you replace the batteries it goes through its boot up stage again, but doesn't require reprogramming, you just have to turn off the help feature that starts every time you restart the remote. It restarts after you program it too so you get the help feature back

  • I have an HDMI switch with 3 channels - channel 1 is for tv and sky, channel 2 is for blue ray player and channel 3 is for media server. Will this remote change the hdmi switch as necessary

  • @frankmilnes assuming the HDMI switch has a remote with it already or has the ability to receive Infared signals, yes. you can program the remote to incorporate the switch as a component and the change into your activity

  • Can the 'Listen to Music' activity button can be reprogrammed to control a different device?

I live in Ireland so I will use 'Watch TV' activity button for an Irish cable receiver for Irish TV & because of our proximity to England, we have another satalite receiver to view the English channels for free.

So we have two receivers, in two different HDMI inputs on the TV. I'm hoping to use 'Watch TV' for the Irish receiver and the 'Listen to Music' button for the UK TV Receiver. Is this possible?

  • @Keek353 Yes you can create a new "Activity" which will control the UK TV receiver and then you set all your preferences for that activity then just assign the activity you just created to the Listen to Music button. Just make sure you dont have more than 5 devices or this remote wont hold all of the components. You only mentioned 3 to me though.. both receivers and tv so you might be fine. Good luck!

  • Hey Cool Video. Ok i have a few questions simply because i am going to be buying this for my sister who is handicapped and i need this to do it all.

The 3 things that i want to program are:

1.TV - Need it to control Volume, channels and guide for switching to different components.

2.Cable DVR box - Volume, channel changing + the DVR functions.

    3. DVD player - Power + all DVD functions.

How can i be sure it will support the things i own?

Tv brand is Olevia and remote # is RC-LTU.

  • @jurassicsushi Logitech has gone to great lengths to compile a database of THOUSANDS of components of different brands and models so that no matter what you own, as long as it has a remote with it, and was not built by yourself or a friend, it is pretty much guaranteed to be supported. If your components are not included in their database for some reason the remote can "learn" the signals from the original remote you have and be able to perform those same functions. It should work fine for you!

  • @MRstageManager2000 I really appreciate the reply, I called around and i can get it for around $70 which in theory is pretty expensive for a Remote, when you are on a budget. But like i said she needs something that can do it all and this was recommended by more than one person so its one the top of the list of things to get. Thanks again for the help.

  • How u get the light turn off when play a movie

  • @robdagreat88 when you connect the remote to your computer and open the software you can add sequences of action to certain buttons, I assigned the play button to send the play command for my xbox and then send the lights off command. pause and stop have the lights on attacthed to them as well.
