  • This aint blues. This is allllll soul, baby.

    :)

  • gave me goose bumps..

  • 3:08 did he actually start picking?????

  • @P00TANARA Yes He Did so fucking good

  • like for WH playing dislike for video and mainly audio quality = nothing

  • Not only is Warren an awesome guitar player but he is a great singer.

  • I know I just commented last week but seriosuly click 1:17 to jizz on command

  • @bringback10klf

DAMMIT I DID IT AGAIN!!! FUCK YOU MAN!!!!!!!!!!

  • 536 people still got the blues------- 9 don´t

  • Doing what he does the best: playing as a god.

  • good lord

  • I see 9 deaf people comented on this gem!

  • By Far My Favorite and Certainly Very Underrated Although RS did rate him 23rd AllTime in my opinion which means nothing He's Number 1.I look forward to seeing him again at Austin City Limits in a few weeks.WARREN FAN FOR LIFE.

  • horrible audio quality, man you totally spoiled that one

  • what key?

  • @gunch533 G

  • oh my God!!

  • THE tone, THE playing....

  • It's definitely NOT a Fender --- Can you hear that??

  • Hear that warm fuzzy buzzy sound outta that Gibson??? Some of us just so love THATTTTTT.............A little over emphasized here but you get the picture.

  • I discovered the best blues-guitarist on this planet.

  • First time I've heard him.... wow.

  • he comes in France he will be on stage with Jwinter..... waouh........!!!!!!

  • I agree with urbansouldevice.

  • Best gutar player, best gutar soud, best guitar soul!!!!!

  • Im going to see him in September! :)

  • I was trying to wonder who Warren is. I heard him with Edwin McCain in a couple of videos. The thing was it kept nagging at me that his name was familiar. Geez, I grew up in Allman Brother country. Why didn't I recognize the name...Old age I guess. As they say, "That boy can play." This is some great blues.

  • Man....when you feel the blues, It goes through you and then comes back for another ride.... Rock on my unknown friend!

  • the audio is terrible

  • He's now using PRS amps quite a bit with the all bro & the mule. He seems to really be digging them. Derek trucks as well.

  • i hope he comes back to va beach.

  • Blues Fest 2011 Cant Wait!!

  • @KarenRebels do tell?

  • @twst1 He's playing at Byron Bay Blues Fest

  • Who knows which Amp Warren favors when he does his ABB gigs? I know he loves Soldanos, and Engls, and of course Marshalls. When it comes down to a regular Joe like me, which Amp head would do it or all around Les Paul Blues/Rock? Thanks

  • @ThePhallystorm if you look around, prob here i'd bet, you'll find a video produced by premiere guitar mag. its an interview w his tech, brian farmer (i believe). he gives the rundown of what he uses when and where, ie with the mule, abb, the dead et al.

Personally i play a LP through a jcm900....its a beast but very high gain. I also just bought a egnater rebel 20 head that i'm really impressed with. it can go from fender to marshall tones...only 20 watts tho.

    hope i've helped

  • THIS GUY HAS BEEN STEALING MY LICKS! LOL!!

    youtube.com/user/dennisdullea?feature=mhum#p/a/u/0/xaT40YUO1Q4

  • @dennisdullea The only difference is he has hair and you used to :) Love you Dennie my Brother, Meskin

  • This Guy Has been STEALING MY LICKS! LOL

  • So looking forward to seeing this man - at Bluesfest 2011 Byron Bay - and in his sideshows in Syd (Factory 23/4 & Mel Corner 24/4) supported by Joe Louis Walker ... gotta be awesome!!!

  • Now I either have to go practice or throw my Les Paul away. Tone Monster.

  • This just puts the soul at ease

  • i think it moved!

  • Warren isn't a legend, but damn good enough to be one.

  • @Pepper2Jason he;s very underrated.

  • @Pepper2Jason he will be!

  • @Pepper2Jason He is a legend!!!

  • sick dude...thanks!

  • That's some nice bass lines there too!

  • I really wonder, when our blues brother casu3 went cotton picking for a living the last time?

  • shame he doesnt use a strat

  • I was going to allow myself to get caught back up in this ridiculous race thing again, but it's pointless. Just ignore the trolls and move on. Warren's awesome, and I'd bet my rent-check that Muddy, BB, and all the others Casu3 mentioned would think so too (Well, maybe not Muddy, since he's been gone for over 20 years).

BTW, why would a rap-artist sample music if he/she is NOT influenced by it? Are you saying they WEREN'T influenced by all that '70's funk and R&B? I doubt that.

  • warren haynes = probably the most under-rated player currently working.

  • Someone posted this so we could enjoy some great music by a great musician. Please, just CLOSE YOUR EYES and LISTEN, it's not about color - it's about the music. Doesn't matter who invented what, or when, or why....Just DIG IT !!

  • @casus3 you should research what B.B, KING said about Blues Players that came along in the '60's and '70s. To paraphrase him if it weren't for them the blues would have died.. Clapton, Duane Allman, and Guys like Warren Haynes were among them and guess what.. They were white..

  • @casu3...

that's your opinion and your certainly entitled to it...but i think you missed the whole thing brother. :-)

  • Just discovered, instantly loved it

  • why every honky who plays blues got to be fat o really bad dressed? dont take me wrong some sound pretty damm good but they got no style in their personal presentation. muddy was alwas clean and neat good haircut and shaved so junior wells little walter the wolf etc. honkys think blues its lookin bad but blues its feelin bad

  • @casu3 whats it matter what he looks like? the man can play

  • @casu3 , it was different times. Muddy, Junior, the Wolf etc. were proud they made enough money for a clean haircut and a decent suit and they surely showed off with that. Today nobody, and exspecially not a white guy, needs to be afraid to get arrested if he dresses like a hobo.

  • @Shellpink the wolf force some white kids who play whit him to get a haircut and dress up like mans what im trying to say its dat muddy and all da old guys where mature enough to understand dat blues its somenthing inside you can be wearing decent clothes and a human being haircut taking care ur body and still telling like it is people who dress like this guy never feel the pain and got do drees like shit cause you have to old guys did thats why they appreciate decent clothes and those things

  • @casu3 I also bet those guys would tell you to learn how to to spell to attempt to convey an intelligent thought. Stating that someone that dressing anything other than 'dressed up' never 'feel the pain' is one of the most ignorant statements I've ever heard regarding blues music. Clothes dont make a blues player kid, it's how you play and the feeling you play with.

  • @wildcat31772 dont care what a honky like you think's about it. koko taylor said it if young black comunity don't get interest in blues, blues its gonna die. so she was wrong to? we know whats all about and we dont enjoy watchin white clowns makin a joke out of the blues

  • @casu3 Yeah, actually he was. To have such a narrow mind on a music genre is ridiculous. You calling me a honky just throws you into the stereotypical piece of shit of a person in general, so you and your shit ebonic english has really no place to put an opinion about anything. And sad thing is, some of the non-black blues guitarists are some of the best ever. Clapton and SRV to name a few... shame you try to hard to hold onto something YOU dont even understand.

  • @wildcat31772 koko taylor was a woman the queen of the blues you don't know shit dont make waste more time on you bitch

  • @casu3 please, dont waste anymore time on any of us people that aren't a narrow minded simpleton that believes that only certain races should play certain music. Except Rap, you guys can have that dogshit music.

  • @wildcat31772 why honkys dont invent their own music? get somenthin original you take our music and try make people think its a white invention like you did whit rock and roll and so and so

  • @casu3 you come in here blabbering about how we're racist, yet you continually say 'honky'. Not a single person has ever claimed to invent 'rock and roll' or blues. You're just dumb and ignorant and trying to make up things to try to make a point. It's ok though, it's tough being wrong about something you're apparently so passionate about, and so offended that a 'honky' can play the shit out of the blues. if blacks cared so much, u woudln't see BB King and Clapton on stage together.

  • @casu3 - Now, that's just a stupid, ignorant comment, especially when you consider how many black rap artists are sampling music from OTHER artists. But it doesn't matter. There are plenty of white guys, hispanic, etc. doing the same thing. Every musician is a thief and a magpie. It's called INFLUENCE.

    Think before you speak.

  • @gangtwanger sampling something and being influenced by something are two completly different things broski.

  • @wildcat31772 god damn you are ignorant. If you don't rely on color for every point you make, people might actually listen to you. The saddest thing about this is people are reading thing because they typed in a wonderful musician on youtube and they are getting poisoned with your comments.

  • @dkurycki I sincerely hope you aren't implying anything i said was revolving around color. Other than that i was calling that other person a narrow minded idiot because he thinks only black people can play the blues or experience the blues which is complete bullshit on just about every account.

  • @casu3 The players you mentioned were dressed appropriately for their times. The same can be said for Mr. Haynes. At least he's not going around with his underwear hanging out.

  • Lay your head back, close your eyes, take a BIG ASS deep breath and ENJOY IT!! GOTTA LOVE IT!!

  • I like this man, played with incredible feeling. All stars for Warren

  • I envy his wife Stefani! Just imagine having Warren around the house doing "private concerts" - THAT would be heavenly!! Of course Warren isn't really hanging around the house that much ~ He tours relentlessly...Thank you Warren & The Mule for sharing yourselves with us ~ We appreciate you!!

  • just a note on the tone ( I know its face melting :P ) its not the actual "in the room" tone, its the overdriven microphones which gives it the effect, but i guess you can get something like this with a good fuzz.

  • The Blues!!

    We all Love em!

    Rip it up!

What does this make you think of?

  • this man is just toooooo good. thats the sickest fucking tone ever. its just the grittiest, meanest, in your face tone. perfect.

  • How is it possible that there are 7 "oppositional voices"?

    This man is a genius!

  • Yes---- he shore can play those blues!

  • seven people need to have a sexual encounter with jeffrey dahmer.

  • I think I can honestly say this man is my favourite guitarist.

  • can anyone give me the name of a fuzz pedal that replicates the sound of really poor sound quality like in this video? sort of like really small cheap speakers getting too much overdrive

  • @hypershadow647 fulltone octafuzz with the gain low. hope that helps.

  • the man!

  • @mustangTNT..Warren could play anything?..You'd better listen to ''Guitars Still Suck'' by Bumblefoot or Miles of machines by Jeff Loomis before you say that fella

  • every note played here speaks hundred words to and each word mean a million things to my life.....words are so futile ... absolutely soulful...wow!!

  • brilliant

  • OMG!!! That's all I can say.

  • The man is a F**KIN GENIUS !!!

  • that is disgusting. what a sicko. man...... it sounds so so so so soooooo good, i couldn't take it and i felt like i was gonna be sick. un.real. .

  • Oh my god, it's wonderful .... :-)

  • Besides the soul, Warren always has amazing tone.

  • he got the blues!!

  • simply stunning. great playing.

  • nice playing, but the sound of this video is disgusting!

  • Funny thing. This was done mid to late 90's(?). At the very end of this lesson he jam's with the session musicians. Danny Lewis is the Keyboard player.

  • I could listen to Warren all day long!

  • I met him at the Puistoblues Festival - Such a nice and frienly guy.And he can really play

  • amazing.

  • thanks for posting. this was nice. 5/5 this isnt the best display of talent ive seen but still enjoyable :)

  • fucking sweet!!

  • smooooooth....Hardest working in the buisness.

  • Warren can play ANYTHING, and oh so WELL!!!!!

  • sounds pretty warren to me

  • Comment removed

  • Its hillarious cuz hes so much better than this nowadays... and to think, how can one get better than this??

  • this is the type of shit i like to see him play

  • That's Warren alright. He is on of the greatest ever. Just listen how he plays simple blues, as done by millions before and after, and still he sounds totally original.

  • take that and transpose it! its all right there. its ALL ....just right there, TAKE IT! bet u can't?

  • That shit if absolutely dripping wet with everything that is bluesy in all the whole universe!!!!!!!!!!!

  • papasmurf, you are right in every way man, TOTALLY FUCKING AGREE

  • in my opinion some of the best ever i love the tone

  • The distortion is pretty heavy, but that'ts cool... Warren is too cool

  • Damn! Warren! You da Man!!!

  • enough to make a grown man cry and a schoolgirl blush... respect !

  • Lmao

  • Warren the king. impresive.

  • How You Fellin' ...Huh Thanx for sharin'.

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • .. and after this who could honestly say duane allman's better? cum'on!

  • i wouldnt even compare the two, that was another place and another time.

  • Because it's just Warren playing Duane licks over and over. Duane was far more proficient at a younger age.

  • and no thats not warren playing duane licks...thats all warren all day.

  • I was lucky enugh to aquire a Les Paul a very long time ago, and honestly there is nothing quite like a les paul...sounds beautiful in any room with any amp, anytime, really,

  • Les Paul's are really great, I'd say the Strat has way more versatility though.

  • That was some nice slow handed blues.

    thanks for sharing.

  • I have a man crush on Warren Haynes

  • @bama79 LOL who doesn't!? Not really a crush, but I knew him back in Nashville. GREAT Human Being on top of being soooo talented. They just don't come much better than him. Heart of Gold.

  • Shaaaa Zammmm I dun died and went to Bluesville Heaven..

    Warren Haynes = Blues Heaven

  • Frickin SICK!!!

    I LOVE THIS MAN!!!!

  • Does he have a pick hidden in his hand, using a finger pick and thumb? What the hell!

  • yea man. most players that play slide and with their fingers have to do that

  • Love his choice of notes every freakin time!!! I took lessons off of Greg Howe,I WOULD LOVE TO TAKE THEM FROM WARREN!!!!! He totally inspires me...

  • Fantastic!!!

    Grandma mary

  • Besides the great natural technique, I like the way the guy uses the middle position on the pick-up selector-both pups wide open

  • ..........and if you don't know how to come out of troubles or try to express the way you feel: play the blues! thank you Mr.Haynes thank you!

  • Thank you Warren Haynes. Thank you for playing this man.

  • Very Tasty!

  • gave me goose bumps

  • than your not the only one fucking great

  • Bad quality, and yet still so bad ass.

  • so smooth

  • In my 42 years on this earth, many a guitarist have struck a chord with me, Page, Clapton, Gilmour, Gallagher, Bonamassa....but none as much as Mr. Warren Haynes

  • Such a sweet ass sound . I think the blues talk to my soul ...

  • wonder grandioso
