If you can't tell the difference between a guys voice and a chicks voice then you really need to start listening to a variation of male and female vocalists. Yes he has a high voice, but it's fairly easy to determine that it's not a female vocalist singing. Also it shows how much talent he has to make his voice go that high, most people couldn't do that without blowing out their vocal chords. This is a good band but they can do a lot better.

Men use falsetto to reach a higher pitch, whereas women already have the capacity for a high pitch, therefore they can't use falsetto. It's the same technique axl rose uses.
