truck drivers these days speed through the truckstops and rest areas like its the damn indy 500 i dont know why they do it the truck stop isnt goin anywhere that pisses me off slow down and pay attention so people dont get killed out here
All we can do is remind the fast drivers to please slow down. We are going to be criticized,cussed at even threatened. If we only save one person from being ran over it all would be worth it!

Unlike the rest of the country where cars usually stop to give right-of-way to the pedestrian. In the trucking world, you, the pedestrian have to stop and give right-of-way. And many times, it's only because that big truck is in too much of a hurry to stop!
I always had an ill feeling toward anyone driving too fast through truck stop parking lots. I see it all the time. You did a good thing by making your own investigative video.
There are just too many truck drivers who do this kind stuff and are just not safety sensitive!
Sorry to hear about your loss. Unfortunately, accidents like this are 100% preventable. That's why I never take it out of 4th gear in truck stops. SLOW DOWN people!!
@westsidemonster A reflective vest is a very good idea, westsidemonster! I use a small flashlight now, and I wave it about a bit as I am walking if it is dark out.
@westsidemonster Thank you for the idea of reflective vests. I'll have to remember that. A couple of mini luminex sticks stuck in the vest wouldn't hurt either.
@westsidemonster Safety vest works a world of wonders. In Canada is basically standard driving apparel because their version of OSHA mandates that drivers have a reflective safety vest on when in the dock area of shippers and receivers. And NJKatwoman, flashlights are nice but safety vests are much more visible than a flashlight that may be shining in a direction or way where a driver won't see it.
I am so sorry for your loss. I know it is dangerous at truck stops. Just be a careful as you can be. There are all kinds of people out here in this world, good people and people that don't care.Take care.

no way! I just read about her the day it happend, her dispatcher is a member on thetruckersreport and he posted about looseing one of his drivers....Sad to hear about, even worse that it was someone that you knew.
Great Video Christy. Its great how you brought the dangers of walking in the truckstop to light. Drivers need to learn to slow down to 10 or 15 mph in the truck stops. Always be aware of what and who are around you at all times. I will feature this video on my channel and share it for ya Christy. :)

most truck stops are not lit very well so I put on my reflective vest and proceed with caution..so sorry to hear about judy,god bless..

yes we asll need to slow down say a UPS van come in the Pilot I26 x115 was flayin in the lot once agon GUYS AND GRILS SLOW DOWN in the truck stops
