  • it's real.he is genius, its as easy for him as a piece of cake.

  • I like federer but this is a fake. Look at how much attention you have giving gillette by discussing this. They got what they paid for...

  • You can see, obviously, it is a true shot.

    Federer is the best..

  • it is fake roger would never put anyone at risk like that. he is super accurate on a tennis court when he can use spin angles and the familiar dimensions of the court even then he cant always get it right. fake but cool

  • @vohshkab its real... you're right, he would never put anyone at risk like that because the guy was never AT risk, roger knows he can make it. You don't get to be called , arguably the best player in the game just by looking good. You think pro's just serve and hope they make it somewhere into the box? They can be unbelievably precise.

  • @Blinx482 I disagree his handlers would never let him participate in a stunt like this - the legal repercussions would be horrendous and unless it was a big prize for charity or saving someone's life he would not do it for a commercial ad. He doesn't need the money or the attention and he certainly doesn't need to prove himself. He is a professional - this is the sort of thing that punk assed kids who think they are being clever or an idiot would do.

  • @vohshkab Okay, I can agree with you and say that it's definitely dangerous and probably wouldn't be allowed to do it, but you can't deny the fact that if he wanted to, he could execute it easily. For all we know, its one of those tricks that he learned through his years of playing, plenty of people have tricks like that.

  • @Blinx482 we can agree that he could do it ... but he would not do it.

  • @Blinx482 You are obviously a 12 year old who has never picked up a tennis racket in your life. Sorry kid, Santa Claus does not exist (and Superman is not real either. For more details, google C G I (Computer-generated imagery)

  • @crasshelmet Your argument is weak and has nothing to do with what I've said to you. You even said so yourself, they practice aiming at cones and ball cans, would you like to explain how that is any different from hitting a bottle off someone's head? Even if this video is fake, do not deny the fact that it IS possible. As for implying that I've never picked up a tennis racquet before, I have never said that I could do this. Maybe you can't either, but at the very least, roger federer could.

  • Comment removed

  • @crasshelmet Again, I will remind you that my statement did NOT say this video is real. I have settled that argument earlier with someone else. My statement to YOU was that it is INDEED possible. But I agree with you, this video did not happen in real time. I also find it hard to believe that you are who you say you are, so I will just let you keep to your own opinion.

  • Comment removed

  • @crasshelmet On the side note, I do not believe you have any right to assume I am 12 years old seeing as you even used the word "turd" at me. Maybe if you looked at my other comments, it would clear up a lot of your confusion on what I have said. It could have saved you a lot of trouble and not waste my time.

  • @Blinx482 There-s a big difference between the service box and a can, hence there is something called a Second Serve (When the first serve does not go in to the service box)

  • @crasshelmet Oh I'm sorry, I never realized that professional players don't practice aiming with their serves. They just hit it and pray it gets in right?

  • @Blinx482 Does this comment even make sense to you. Holy turd dude, of course they practice aiming at cones and ball cans but they do not have the accuracy to hit a can off someones head at about 100mph,with no room for error. Ask a friend to stand 5 feet away from you and try to shoot a can off your head with a gun, and see how it goes.

  • in second 14 you can se its been hited, o my god its true

  • @ffallenaangel trust me it is not for real the exact same video in the exact same room has bin done before with other sports stars..it has bin done with some famous baseball pitcher where he throws a baseball with his eyes shut and knocks the flask off someones head.. i have also seen an old sweedish football player called tomas brolin drop kick a soccer ball and knock the flask off his head..check it out the tomas brolin one is a bit more convincing..

  • @notoriousb3nni ok i can udnerstand that, in this video the guy its like ok anthing gonna hapend to me, he could almost die if roger hited bad, you know what i mean? roger its to good to have taht risk of hiting him

  • I hate to burst everyone's bubble cause its a neat trick but with even basic video editing software these days you can remove the real ball and easily place it frame by frame wherever you want

    It is fake

  • @michaeltbear kay num 1 not with basic editing software and not that easily and 2 this was done on camera, they attached a string to the bottle and the ball went somewhere that goes out of the frame so you cant see and at the same time they pull the bottle of his head.

  • he's keeping his eye on the ball, it's basic tennis form

  • @Mrgodsofmusic ..... oh come on....... easily doable?........ fark me dead!! I mean, yes possible... but i wouldn't trust just anybody to do it.....

  • look this thing is completely real. all the people which say it is fake like @ancienthumper dont realise that actually you always look at the ball in tennis. he knows where he is trying to hit it without looking there he just makes sure he gets a good contact on the ball.

  • @AncientHumper and @michaelguo8 .. come on guys, don't be daft... coming from an internationaly ranked player... u look at the ball when u serve, no where else, trust me ... this kind of thing is easily dooable... he's the best ever.

  • haha that guy is lucky federer didnt use the same force he uses at tennis matches otherwise that guy wont get away with just a bottle off his head :P

  • Did he die ?

  • sexy Roger. love :)

  • sorry 00:13 and 00:14

  • @ansomene77 you can clearly see the ball all the time

  • 13:00 ball disapears 14:00 the bottle spins!

  • 13:00 no ball is to be seen then out of no where the bottle spins off

  • Guys this is Federer we're talking about... Of course its real.

  • No way this is true. Even the speed of the ball as shown in this vid would be enough to knock the guy had it hit him in the nose. If real serve speed is 4x this then it would be extremely dangerous to be a ballboy or umpire.

  • @S1rWakka it IS dangerous to be a ballboy or umpire, i mean, there are people like soderling and roddick hitting balls at extreme speeds of over 120mph, even 140mph! i mean the numbers just get higher and higher. Still, the cynics are everywhere to tell you that this isn't true.. Well, i like roger! so peace man, just telling ya my point of view of this issue :D

  • real!!!!!!!

  • fake!!!!!!!!

  • Whether or not it is fake, i would certainly not put it past Federer to pull that off

  • Of course it is true!!! Like all those Jedi Knights fighting on other planets - I've seen it on TV!

  • My tennis coach showed his students, including me, this video. The bet was loser had to take the bottle and coach would hit a serve at it.

Long story short, the loser was chicked so I did it. But I was backwards:P

  • dont need to look in the direction. in tennis u watch ur raquet and NEVER take your eyes off the ball. :)

  • Ok, why the fuck would the best tennis player (or one of the best) feel the need to fake something like this? Stupid people....

  • @coolm0di wtf?? LOL

  • its fake because the ball disappears suddenly rofl 0:13 0:14

  • @coolm0di are you an idiot?

  • @orphen21622 people i was sarcastic!

  • it looks real

  • I don't get this video, I mean, every other full speed video of this trickshot I find shows the camera turning towards Roger JUST as he is about to hit the shot, but in this slow-motion version of yours it even shows him throwing the ball up without any sudden camera movements. So either this is footage from a different take or it's a 2nd camera filming the same trickshot.

  • Hell No its not fake. He's just that good. GET OVER IT!

  • This is clearly a camera trick, similar to the camera tricks they use in Martial arts movies. They use the exact same angle that they use in this video to simulate point of contact... in this case, the ball was well away from the guy with the bottle and the bottle was simply pull off from his head by a piece of string or some other instrument... Very easy trick to pull off...

  • Only God can take the player to even more precision. I hit a volley while NOT looking at the ball, but saw it hit 6inches inside the baseline for a winner. The coaches say watch the ball right onto the racket strings, but God says 1: put your body in position, 2: put your arm in position, and 3 let me do the rest. This explains why Roger seems to be not looking.

  • the guy in the background has a camera on the second shot then doesn't have it a few seconds after...also why would he risk hitting that guys face at 120+mph with a tennis ball. not to mention the acting at the start :)

  • After they captured Federer making the shot without the guy in the same room, they simply positioned the target guy and bottle in front of green screen at the proper perspective so the ball path would match bottle height, and knocked it off. Then a simple matter of timing the a/b roll to match the collision.

Fast camera movements used to hide cuts between when both are in the same room and not.

  • did he hit hte botle of his hed?

  • A lot of us are saying it's fake but we're not that sure because HE'S THAT FUCKING AMAZING!

  • Roger, you're the man!

  • fake

  • you damn noobs...of course when you serve you don't look at your aim.

    1. you look at the ball

    2. you look where you've hit the court

Here, you clearly see that he throws the ball looking at it, hits the ball then looks straight to the area between the actual target and the guys on the right....THEN he looks at the target.

So he did a real service on the right of the target. Then FX geeks corrected the video frame by frame.

the action is less then a sec so there is more or less 20 frames...

  • @olescro baffling isn't it?... the kind of idiots that are argueing this is fake..

  • @tarun1982 I agree

  • you damn noobs...of course when you serve you don't look at your aim.

    1. you look at the ball

    2. you look where you've hit the court

Here, you clearly see that he throws the ball looking at it, hits the ball then looks straight to the area between the actual target and the guys on the right....THEN he looks at the target.

So he did a real service on the right of the target. Then FX geeks corrected the video frame by frame.

the action is less then a sec so there is more or less 20 frames...

  • You have to look at the ball first - the arm knows where the object is and that determines the direction

  • I remember the days when they used chimpanzees for these tricks, but thanks to animal rights activists we are down to dumbarses like me at the bottom of the food chain to wear a can on our heads and risk being nutted..

  • i love roger but sadly, this ad is obviously fake.it's funny when you read those comments from the people who believe this is real

  • @waminsj come on dude...hes standing so close to the guy with the bottle....a real tennis court is much bigger than this....im not saying this is real but i bet he can still do this.....

  • sexy Roger. love

  • you dumbfucks tennis players are always on an angle when they serve because DUH they are serving diagonally in an actual game not straight. XD IDIOTS

  • すげええええええええええええええええええええええええええええええ

  • A magician never reveals his secrets. classic.

  • If Roger could do that he would get 100% of his serves ih and never never double fault

  • It's hard to accept how good these players really are.

Next time I sit in my armchair shouting at Federer for missing a shot, its good to remember this video and just shut up.

  • Why would Roger need thing like this (cheap comercial)

I dont think it is a fake.

  • My opinion is that RF never would do such things in this way... not as a "lunch break joke"... its not his way to act.

so even i cant tell its fake by watchin the clip i would say its fake

  • @AncientHumper Yeah I think normally it is but this is Federer. A lot of the time, he plays forehands and backhands without looking at the direction of the opponent and sometimes even with his eyes closed at contact point.

  • @michaelguo8

not the case guys. you're supposed to look at the ball through contact and never look at where you're going to hit. the position of your feet and the swing path of your arm determine where you put the ball.

  • @michaelguo8 It is fake... I live in Switzerland and on a local news he said it was fake.

  • @michaelguo8 well, im not a pro in tennis, but when you play tennis, you don't take your eyes off the ball. Ofcourse you glance where you are going to hit at, but you don't usually hit the ball to ur opponent. :p

  • @michaelguo8 In tennis you have to keep your eyes on the ball all the time. Players of that level don't need to look where to place the ball to. They know the dimensions of the court like the back of their hand and can determine the angles and directions with their eyes closed.

Knowing tennis very well i'm telling you that it's fake.

But this doesn't make Federer any worse of a player. He is still magnificent.

  • @AncientHumper Federer always looks at the ball as it is making contact. Try looking at some stills of him, or other slow mo taken from highlight reels. He is the only pro player that does this on every shot and at that extreme.

  • @AncientHumper Man...you really don't know how the pro tennis player do with their serve. Decision is made before the hit. Ask John McEnroe. Note this still does not mean this video is real.

  • @AncientHumper

Federer always serves facing sideways. Damnit we got a tennis noob in our mits. Most ppl serve with their foot and body pointing at the net post in which they are standing diagonally.

  • @AncientHumper I agree that it IS fake, but not because of where he's looking. You dont look at your target while you serve. You look at the point of contact. He looks at the "target" then tosses the ball up and looks up at the ball. This is a standard (perfect form) serve in tennis. The reason why I believe it's fake is that the ball you see is much slower than the ball this serve would actually produce. right when the ball leaves his racket theres a change of pace where the editing occured.

  • @AncientHumper watch the video without slow motion you wil see the ball clearly hit the can after the serve in the second time he does it it`s not fake

  • @AncientHumper no, yur body should be perpendicular to the target yur serving to, which federer is.

  • @AncientHumper No, tennis players focus on the BALL, all the time before and after they hit it. If they wouldn't do so, they couldn't even hit it, not even win a single point.

  • @AncientHumper You need to watch Roger Federer more, never does he have his face directly in line with the opponent, and when he's serving do you expect him to turn his head as soon as the ball has left his racket? Don't forget this is in slow motion.

  • @AncientHumper Actually I never look at the point I'm serving, maybe before I hit the serve, but you need to know where you wanna serve before you hit the ball!

If the framerate was better, you could easily see that this one was not faked!

Well, maybe someone should ask him on his wep page... He should know what he did or what he did not ;)

  • @AncientHumper in tennis u have to watch the ball all the time, especially at the serve. before the serve he realized where he have to hit the bottle, during he serves he have to watch where the racket hits the ball. if he does not the timing cant be right

  • @AncientHumper If you keep your eye on the ball even through the contact, then you have more accuracy and won't mishit the ball

  • @AncientHumper you don't know tennis. you keep your eye on the ball and visualize where you want it to go. yep, he is that good. nadal and samprus could've done that too i believe.

  • @AncientHumper No you dont usually face the place you are serving to, when federer serves he starts off almost perpendicular to the base line

  • @AncientHumper You have to look AT THE BALL, just in case it's not plainly obvious to everyone.

  • @AncientHumper Yea you obviously have never hit a proper serve before. This isn't fake, I've seen much more impressive feats from Federer.

  • @AncientHumper Have you played much tennis before? Federer keeps his eyes on the ball through contact consistently on all of his strokes. Hitting a serve without watching the ball is like trying to drive a golf ball while looking at the green... not the best idea and the golf ball doesn't even move. This isn't fake, I've seen much more impressive feats from the Fed. He is the tennis GOAT.

  • @AncientHumper you don't know much about tennis....

You watch the ball all the way until it hits your racket. Try hitting a serve without looking at the ball xD

  • @iGeniusAtWork I was saying he isnt looking at the place he was serving to after he hit the ball.. I was 2nd national under 14 :S

  • @AncientHumper hmm its tough to say from this angle :) I played ITFs also :)

  • @AncientHumper any basis sir?

  • look you Idiots! these guys can serve pinpoint accurate time after time on the lines of the T or at the corners, of course this can be done. Plus the guy probably has protection, and the ball is probably not a tennis ball.

morons just straight say not possible blah blah blah

  • fake or not... im sure all of you will talk of this for the next years.

    gud advertisement indeed =)

  • I think the shot is possible, (after many attempts) but this is not real. They would have at least had some type protection over the man's face.

  • this is fake.....but i still love federer!!!

  • even a person withthe power of 6 without spekcs can say that is fake

  • Faaaaaaake! You can see that he doesnt hit the ball!

  • not real the ball is going in different direction to the guy with the thing on his head

  • i think this is real but took alot of practice before it was done

  • @gunfart cameras generally keep rolling when they are at a shoot, that way they have lots of material to choose from instead just the moments they do the shoots, cause you can store hours of footage now on a good camera, not sure if they are using digital or film though.

  • All you can see is a yellow blur gliding across the way, if you look close at the trajectory, you can see it. And even STILL cant truly be for certain, followed it all the way to the bottle, but it deflects off to the side, that might be a good sign its real OR fake.

  • i really dont see the yellow ball flying over?? am i the only one who is blind?

  • Fake cos y wuld he be filming them??? and jus b4 he dus tht 2

  • @gunfart Ummm i dont know, maybe because of the set-up. A guy is told to put a bottle on his head and Federer is holding a racket and ball. It doesnt take a genius to know what's going to happen next. It's not like the guy casually walks around with a bottle on his head and Federer just decided to hit it.

  • i thought this was fake until i tried it. it's not that hard, y'all.

  • guys dont act like u can see the ball flying in the air, so stfu if its fake or not

  • lol, only reason i think its fake is who the hell would dare put that bottle on their head xD?

  • well fake or not the great thing for us is that people are going to try this at home and post it on youtube so we can laugh with the ones who really get hurt =)

  • Anyone who says this is fake is gay, just because something is amazing doesnt mean its fake.

  • So fake! He hits it to our left!!! Very good tho, just shows how virals do their job getting people talking!!!

  • you dumb fucks

    1. if you stop at 0:04, right after he hits the ball, you can clearly see him looking in the direction the ball is flying which is to the right of the dude with the bottle on his head. From our POV, to the left. away from us. Right after he hits the ball, looks in the balls direction, he then turns his head and looks at the guy with the bottle.

    2. Common fucking sense? Do you really believe that anybody, would actually risk hitting a guys face and injuring him seriously.

  • @kutljaca maybe if you played tennis and common sense you would realise that when you serve you wont turn straight to where you are serving half a second after you make contact with the ball...

  • thats frickin dangerous thats like over 200 km/h

  • why cant people accept that cool stuff can happen?

  • @MrFranzisko Cos they wouldn't risk a guy getting hit in the face at around 200 km/h by a tennis ball for a f*cking commercial. if it went wrong his face would be pulp.

  • Not sure it is fake. I guess you can ask a good hockey player to hit a can with the puck from quite a long distance over and over again and he does it. Why not a tennisplayer?. One must remember that he does nothing else that play tennis. Hey... you can see monster-guitarists play megalicks per second with precision.. It's matter of practice, practice, practice.... and more practice.. But... it could be fake...

  • What i think proves it´s fake is that for a split second he´s looking in the direction he´s actually serving and not at the guy with the bottle.

  • wether it's fake or not is irrelevant, just the fact that people aren't sure if it's real proves how good Federer really is

  • Ask the agency that did it..

They already got this fotage in a promo that showcases jobs they have done.

hmm.. is it fake??? Ignorant people will always be ignorant.

  • just place him where the ball would be at that height in his normal serve. totally doable.

  • Dudes hair didn't react to the air-pressure difference caused by the motion of the ball and the bottle that should attract some of the hair with it due to Coulomb interaction.

    Conclusion, Fake!

  • Comment removed

  • @KakHazhar The part of his hair that would have moved is in darkness. Plus his hair hardly moves at all anyway. Federer will probably have to do this on Letterman just to shut everyone up. lol

  • Comment removed

  • @gosyryoyo What are you talking about? The sound is accurate. The ball obviously hits the bottle. Why would the bottle necessarily fly towards the camera filming? None of the things you say makes sense.

  • @gosyryoyo Light travels faster than sound. It's not as noticeable when you are close to the sources but when you start slowing things up it becomes apparent.

The ball is certainly passing over the man's head.

  • @gosyryoyo

    1. I think the sound is correct. The first sound is when he hits the ball and then the next is when the ball strikes the bottle.

    2. Really? I'm pretty sure it passes on top of his head.

    3. How can you tell that the ball hit the side of the bottle? Why not a direct front on hit?

  • @gosyryoyo

    ...donk....

of course it is real just watch the original video...

...pathetic analysis.. THAT is fake fake fake....

    go sleep..

  • @gosyryoyo you didnt really look at the vid huh?

  • @gosyryoyo You probably also think that thunders are fake because the sound comes afterwards..

  • @gosyryoyo You know that the speed of light is faster than the speed of sound?

  • @gosyryoyo Go suck rwj's dick troll.

  • @gosyryoyo dont u know sound changes when u use slow speed?

  • @gosyryoyo haha so stupid

  • @gosyryoyo Agree with you it is fake as the guy is not Roger Federer at all!

  • @gosyryoyo its real have you seen the footage on youtube?,news?. he slowed it down by editing and maybe the program slowed the sound down too much.

  • def real. unless video editing has gotten that good, i doubt its fake. lol

  • lol, that's absolutely real. haters are just jealous that they don't get a chance to do a commercial ad.

  • @Alsagoffy That and the fact that they cn't hit a ball with the accuracy of Federer. Who can?

  • As much as I want to believe this is real, and being a tennis pro myself, I've seen players hit cones up to 7 out 10 times... The thing is, changing the target on the fly for a tennis player such as a bottle on top of someone's head make it a lot harder as the normal height and distance changes completely.
