Thanks for watching, guys. Today GM is building these crappy H2 and H3 after killing the civilian H1 and Rick Wagoner, the responsible asshole, wants to sell Hummer as fast as possible. By the side, he also responsible for that financial GM desaster, probably killing the european car brands...OPEL and SAAB. He's a real motherfucker. I apollogize for that language, but it is hard to stay calm in thes tough times. Hope Hummer would be buy'd by a good and financial healthy company bringing back H1!
Great video I loved every second of it and a while ago perhaps this year I remember reading a article in "Motor Trend" magazine stating that AM General will reproduce the civilian H1 in 2010.
Daniel, your welcome, I wish I would have shot much more :-( Not even in my wildest dreams I would have thought, that ten years later, they will drop the H1.
Alpha maybe blows the doors of your 98 when it's running... Many spend weeks and months being fixed BRAND NEW. I guess you know better then people who service Hummers since 92...
Yeah dude, looks like GM killed the H1 Civilian, cause there are too many humvees coming in, wich have to be reforced with body armour. To many humvees have been blown up out there. The 2006 Hummer H1 Alpha was truely the king. New Duramax engine, Allison gearing. Everything was made far better. And then, after a half year, they stop production.
i know, it would have been better if GM didnt buy out, they still would have been inspird to make the H2 and maybe H3, they would just look different and have a diff. brand, AMG didnt care about sales of the H1, they alrady had enough coming in from the HMMWV!
Despite numerous rumors on the contrary, Hummer recently announced to its dealers that it will be introducing a new, smaller model designed to compete against the Jeep Wrangler. Hummer executives refer to the vehicle as the HX, although it's expected that the vehicle will actually be called the H4 to fit better with Hummer's current H2-H3-H? naming scheme.
Hummer's General Manager, told dealers that the small Hummer will arrive in 2010 or '11.
yea ive heard that too, hummer has the legacy of the biggest baddest thing youlll ever see on the road, its a true american legend ut GM is in deap poopoo and the smaller ones sell so thats what they want....
the 2011 (not sure about year) next-gen H2 project with the diesel engine has been canceled and I think the greenies and there false propaganda that takes advantage of a false reputation will unfortunately succeed... :(
'Everything was made far better'? Not exactly. Actually,Alpha was far from being 'king'! It was rather disappointment. The only good about it was Allison.
Alpha was one of the reasons why there is no more new H1's.
So please tell us, what was bader on the H1 Alpha? The reason GM tells us, is that people wanted a new design, but I tell you, that is bullshit! GM as nearly bancrupt company just wanted to construct a toy maschine that would give em a lot of cash in their pockets. GM was never interessted in selling the H1. First thing GM did as they buyd AMG was build this H2 toy.
And what did GM in 2003? They selled Hummers and the technology to the chinese!!! Take a look at google or wikipedia in reference to the Dongfeng EQ2050 and learn. Fu***** GM!!!
schmuck, the reason there are no more civilia hummers being madeis because they want to concentrate on maing HMMWV's Actually alphas are far stronger to the older h1's
Alpha's advances in power came with numerous issues - many spent months at the dealer being fixed BRAND NEW! They stopped because sales were very SLOW at $150K and 2007 emission standards could NOT be met! If you had H1 you would know that Alpha's performance -- useless for the price you pay and complexity of design. Next time use spelling check moron!
my bad im in iraq and my computer is full of dust. That is not the reason AM General stopped making H1's. I dont have an h1 but i do drive armored HMMWV's on a daily basis. I myself have a Unimog which is far superior to your H1
GM aimed to sell Duramax powered HUMVEE to the military.Military refused. Having spent too much on development and due to slow sales and Federal Emission requirements for 2007 - they cut the sales. You not able to talk to HUMMER dealers right now but at least do some reading....
im glad u think you are so learned on the happenings of GM, but GM doesnt sell hummers to the military. AM General sells HMMWV's to the military. GM Only owns the hummer name, nothing else.
Unimog to H1. Can you park your Unimog inside average garage? Not every H1 owner lives in the boonies... Why don't you compare H1 to MTVR or to HEMMT or even to Russian 'Topol' missle carrier(14x12)
i live right by here! i drive past it every day!

If I need to have conversation at 80 - I take my QX-56. I doubt the noise is the major concern of most H1 owners.

I'm glad that you are such a 'Smart ass'.
Why don't you read again what I said - GM aimed to sell Duramax powered HUMVEE's.
Yes - they would of been made by AM General.
But the drivetrain would of come from GM.
Just like it was before 1999 when GM switched to Duramax and AMG start making 6.5 on it's own. Do some reading and stay safe outhere!
