  • yo Elliot I have been successful with these Vince gironda vacuuming and I am even starting to get these cool striations coming down from my obliques the only things I might add to your presentation is what has helped me out and that is to not associate breathing with the vacuuming or to consider it a gym exercise instead practise it wile driving,shopping ,visiting friends etc.also try it wile expanding the ribs which is why I don't recommend associating it with breathing

That's like saying you can have a bicep or big pectoral muscles, but they're hidden under fat. Actually, your abs get bigger from working out, just like every other muscle. If someone searches for a routine in 'how to get abs', I don't think this would be what they were looking for. The majority of people want ripped six pack abs, nothing more, nothing less. In this case, this is less.

  • you CAN do crunches without involvment of the hip joint and therefore no involvment of the psoas. I think youre talking mora about the sit-up type of crunch where ppl use momentum from the hip joint to perform a crunch. Simple solution: lie on a flat bench with the shoulder blades OVER the edge, hook your feet under the bench, so you dont fall from it, now stretch your abdominals and overextend your shoulderblades and upper body down to earth from the bench (dont exagerate this), now crunch

First, when you say that personal trainers who say to do core stability exercises are wrong, why exactly is that? Aren't you working stability and your abs if you are doing exercises on wobble boards and exercise balls because you have to balance. And this it also works your nervous system? And, when you say exhale and pull your stomach in (5:55), why wouldn't you inhale to pull in? Thanks.

  • @Soymilllk You can experiment consistently and see what your results are like or you can question and undermine the thought process because it comes from a line of thinking you are not familiar with! Which sounds like the better option to you? Also if you listen closely he said you are to encorporate the excercise into movements such as dragon flags . Try if for a few weeks doing planks if you are not advanced and see what the results are like! YOU WILL FEEL THE DIFFERENCE!

I've never used machines either because I've moved to a country that hasn't seen them. Please sir. Help me :)

If you want to lose weight i suggest you start examining the things you eat, your relationships with others, your life style,how you view the world and everything you do in your life with this simple Q...... is this good or bad for me, the people in my life and the world i live in!

  • I read about this in a yoga book ages ago. I used to do them over 15 years ago. I was 30 pounds lighter at the time and did not realize their importance when it came to weight training until I started weights 2 months ago. I wear a belt but I quickly realized that my inner core muscles had become very slack from no longer doing the stance I used to use when working. (it is a fantastic way to stand when doing a job that requires one to stand for long hours in the same spot!! )

  • @mesidonaa one stumbling block to consider is your digestive health... are you pooping regularly, if your colon is stuffed with shit it wont work... also you may have inflammation due to alcohol consumption, prescription drugs, food intolerance, etc.

  • @strengthcamp I'm not sure how that relates to my question but my digestive health is fine. I refrain from alcohol for the most part and my diet has a lot of fiber. I don't believe I have inflammation. I'm just not sure if I'm performing the exercise correctly, since I can't see myself doing it (like most exercises) I can't tell what my form looks like. Do you have any tips to make sure I'm doing it correctly?

  • @mesidonaa if your digestive system is dysfunctional, inflammation in the colon creates inhibition of the deep abdominal walls. Also, you may simply be carrying too much intraviceral fat... the best way for me to help you would to do a video analysis... if you upload a video to this post as a response, i'll do an assessment for you, free of charge :)

  • @mesidonaa cool, i just saw it. first, you really are doing a great job, in fact you could probably use a bit more muscle in the back and shoulders to make your waist look smaller, but that is something you should ask a bodybuilder about... next place your hands on a lower bench and also try to keep your shoulders from shrugging... you really are doing well kid, just keep up your efforts and add some muscle IMO.

  • @strengthcamp Thanks, I'm trying to add a bit of weight. I was a lot smaller believe me. I'm about 4 months in, I'm just having a bit of trouble with weight because I have a lot of cardio in my routine (from track and field). On my back day I've got deadlifts (5x5), bent-over rows, and seated rows. And my shoulder day I do bench press, shoulder shrugs, OHP, and shoulder press. Am I lacking volume or should I just give it some more time? Btw your deadlifting videos were really helpful!

  • To continue on my last post... there's a reason Russian sports science is more advanced than ours in America. Yes. using the "anal lock" and tensing your abs is good FOR DOING AB EXERCISES, but not for martial arts or taking hits. Don't believe me? Try tensing up and getting hit by a Systema instructor. I'd bet you a hundred bucks tensing will hurt more.

  • YO ELLIOT... ever take an anatomy course? Fascia is NOT a muscle and THEREFORE can NOT contract to make you have "flat abs". Fascia merely COVERS your muscles like a SHEATH. You're thinking of your transverse abdominis. The TA is what allows you to maintain intra-abdominal pressure, my friend. And maintaining intra-abdominal pressure is NOT a good idea if you want to take a hit. Hence, the reason why more drunks survive car accidents than sober people that.... TENSE UP. biomechanics.

I shelled out A LOT of hits in my life. Anyone who has actual experience with hitting knows you had better tense up or you'll get your shit blown apart (non official terminology) -- thanks though.

  • @ArchAngelXIV yea buddy, a lot of martial arts focus on "tendon strength". basically its about building functional mobility into your program (stretching) also nutrition plays a big role, drink lots of water and avoid food that may cause inflamation.
