Well, before the WWI there was no "Soviet Union". It was "Russian Empire", so theoretically term "Soviet Navy" should be used for events which took place after 1922 (USSR proclamation)
@massivesovietunion but soviet russia already existed before the soviet union. so the navy dominated by the russian bolsheviks could be called soviet navy. thats my point.
@FIFA07Addicted FIFA The massivesovietunion is right the Soviet Union was officially declared on December 30 1922.In 1917 the Russian Empire was overthrown by the Bolsheviks in the Russian Revolution there was a struggle for power among the Bolsheviks and the White Army which lead to the Russian Civil War.The Red Army won and THEN established the Soviet Union in 1922.
@FIFA07Addicted Also FIFA having gone on google and looking at your past comments like this one I can tell you are a MASSIVE troll. And thus you were wrong to flame me over the Arby n the Chief Severence video for "ruining peoples day" by saying that Trent Donovich was the leader of Chaos Theosis.
@FIFA07Addicted nit picking a little arent we? There are a lot of people who would say there wasnt much of one after WWI either. The russians have an ocean going naval tradition on par with that of Afghanistan. Actually, Afghanistan has fewer naval blunders, losses, screw ups, and lossed battles to countries a tenth their size. So, you wanna play the semantics game, go on ahead. It wont stop history from laughing at the russian navy.
@snowboredsnj lol shut up, like I predicted, you´re a mentally retarded idiot with no purpose in life but be jealous of the red army, the red army has never been defeated you sub-human piece of shit. hahahaha you´re such an idiot its laughable. the russian marines were the main cause of the sucess at the battle of stalingrad, a true decisive battle to destroy fascism, unlike the pussy battles of the pacific. and the soviets killed 80% of the nazis aswell, and skilled ones, not 50 year olds.
@FIFA07Addicted maybe you should watch the video b4 you start slinging insults. They mention alot of pre soviet history. They talk bout imperial russia's navy at some length...and considering the remnants of the russian navy would have served as the base for building a soviet navy, mentioning its history seems more than warranted. I guess by your logic the makers of this vid are idiots too for talking bout the pre soviet era naval history.
@snowboredsnj true of course But that was then n today is today the Russian navy was is Not anywhere near as powerful as the us navy ket alone the combine navies of nato But its Bulavas ICBMs now n 3X the time of speed Russia cruise missiles n of course Russia's very formitable nuclear subs so we all know usa/nato will Never dare attack a single Russian ship unless they want some Bulavas raining on their cities Most advanced ICBM on earth many tried all with overwhelming superiority all failed
Cool Stuff.

@KarlisKlotins actually the Aurora is considered to be the first soviet navy ship, and it was after it mutinied against the white russians.
