  • One of the pumpkins most underrated songs. Catchy as hell

  • I would give up my right kidney... and possibly the left one too, to go back in time and see these guys in like 93 or 94

  • better than the album

  • @tamatheoriginal i know on alot of the the stuff on siamese dream they use a big muff pi but it sounds like something that plays the octave of whatever he's playing

  • Hi, does anyone know what kind of pedal are they using for the guitar solos ?

Would be really interested in it.

  • @TamaTheOriginal He indeed uses a Big Muff Pi for the distortion, the octavers comes from a Fender Blender if I'm not mistaken.

  • @ObscuredJellybelly Thanks a lot guy, Bill'y gear has always seemed complicated to me !

  • @TamaTheOriginal No problem dude!

  • man! i wish the Pumpkins were still like this today! they're just not the same as they were in the '90s! this shit fuckin' rox! i wish i could play music like this!

  • Holy shit! They were touring with Swerevdriver! Man...I miss the 90's. :(

  • Jimmy: have you got your tickets? TO THE GUN SHOW!!!?!?!!

  • this is so far my favorite song by them, but ive barley scratched the surface of the smashing pumpkins. Can't wait at this point im already fucking emotionally connected to their sound.

  • cool live show nice energy

  • D'Arcy at 3:36. Awesome!

  • Siamese Dream é o melhor álbum dos "Abóboras Selvagens",na minha opinião.

  • I miss this band

  • I listened to this so many times in middle school and high school detention.

    The good old days.

Kids today and their whole shit music generation can kiss my 90's ass!

  • @YargDisease couldn't agree with you more. there are still good bands out there today, but seriously.. music these days is so souless and shrill. kids have absolutely terrible taste in music.

  • @raoulsghouls seriously, bro? I don't mind the smashing pumpkins, but this comment could basically describe every song corgan has written. Shrill, immature. I understand being a fanboy, but think before you speak.

  • Comment removed

  • @thedivinesuicideof that's just how you view the smashing pumpkins. I don't think their music is shrill or souless at all. don't tell me what to do over the internet.. lol.

  • @raoulsghouls no sir. i actually like some of their songs, i'm a huge music fan in general, however, billy corgan's writing isn't exactly stellar. and his vocals are another story... but anywho. i'm actually looking for their heavy ass songs, i caught this performance on hdnet, and it was pretty sweet, what are some of their heavy songs?

  • @thedivinesuicideof Look for the live versions of Fuck You( An Ode To No One), Zero, or Geek USA, to name a few.

  • That was amazing

  • My stepbrother gave me this on VHS and it's fucking amazing

  • they're great live!

  • @GalGx007 they were great live.

  • @Candyking2007 - in the Siamese Dream era and a little beyond Billy's distortion of choice came from the Big Muff. Which gives that full fuzz that you hear on the album.

He has used the Octave effect many times on various Solo's in Studio. It only makes sense that he would do it live as well. Give it a try

  • @Candyking2007 - I believe he is using either an Octave or Chorus pedal. Perhaps even the two combinded. Of course the effect is running through a distortion pedal. Probably a Big Muff

  • at 2:13 you can see the half-brother of corgan that he mentioned in his blog a couple of years ago--sporting the bald billy hairdo ahead of time

  • "Silent

    Metal mercies

    Castrate

    Boys to the bone"

smacks my ballz in the face, jesus

  • Jimmy's playing on this is absolutely epic. The guy is a beast!

  • Amen..his snare fills are almost destructive. I know this is an old reply but..Fuck!!! Great LIVE VERSION INDEED.

  • the drums are similar to "bodies"

  • @pedrowasabi this is true for alot of their songs

but they still rock hard and many of the best pumpkins songs are overshadowed by shit like tonight tonight and today--even though those songs are great

  • THAT WAS AMAZING!

  • Oh wow... I remember watching this on VHS 10 years ago.

  • wow i feel it

  • 3:21 wow you can see Iha feeling his music so much man wow

  • james was insane near the end

  • This is an amazing performance

  • anyone know witch pedal billy uses for the solo?

  • He used to use a stompbox called the "meatball" apparently, should come up in a google, not too sure if theyre in production anymore.

  • pfft its just a harmoniser.

  • Awesome

  • I have to know what kinda effect Billy is using on this solo. It absolutely rocks. Sounds like a chorus/octave-something.

  • hmm... somebody once said that Dom & Chris from Muse messing around after/during a gig in Osaka- here: watch?v=1Lf3K6VxKZ4 -did something that sounds like this [so I had to listen] but I'm sorry, that 50 second 'goof' was about 1000 times better than this... Muse just rules [even temporarily w/out Matt]

  • ....and again, in English please?

  • actually, they *are* English aren't they... good [if only inadvertent] point

  • Gigimc - my request for an English translation was actually in response to your earlier posting, which seemed somewhat disoriented.

  • yesyesyes, I figured what you meant of course, but it was strange because except for the portion with the link what I wrote made perfect sense. What was disorienting??

  • Probably just my disorientation. No problem. Don't worry about it.

    Peace to you.

  • hm... all that for a 'don't worry about it'?? wow... what I'd love to know is why I've gotten so many thumbs downs so far for my comment, when it *is* true... you guys really think SP in all their glory is better than Muse playing around with a rif?? seriously??

  • Well, I thought that would have been the end of it, but - seeing as you insist on posing the question - yes, I think SP (especially with this example) rock as hard as ANYONE, including Muse.

  • Muse fucking suck though, thats the difference

  • fuck yeah they do, fuck muse.

  • @MexicanSeadude

Yeah, the dude's voice is very fagot-like. I never cared much for him or his music.

  • this is a GREAT song

  • this is a GREAT song

  • this is a GREAT song

  • fukin awesome. so fukin good.

anyone know the guitar effect billy uses in the solo?

  • i think it is a digitech whammy pedal, ya know those huge red pedals.

  • why are they playing so fast

  • i love the smashing pumpkins and this song is very special for this senteces

  • The Smashing Pumpkins are Gish: Lead guitar vocals. Siamese Dream: Lead guitar, background vocals. Pisces Iscariot: Bass, vocals. and Aeroplane Flies High ( and other stuff from before 95 ): Drums.

  • at 2:14 you can hear the world collapsing

  • Uhm, how?

  • I like your patience...

  • Pumpkins will be Pumpkins, and allways be the best rockband ever... and this is one of their most powerful songs!

  • Amen to that.

  • Such a fucking amazing song.

    And Vieuphoria rules.

  • SP Fuc*in' rule!!

  • One of the best performances of them. love this song!!

    Quiet!

  • yea but do you know witch particular model they use? or do they sound all the same.

  • I am going to guess and say the digitech whammy pedal. I know they used that before.

  • i didnt think that they would ever use digitech.

  • Well I actually think keioffice was talkig about the vocal effects, but I do know for a fact that they did use digitech whammy pedal on MCIS. I read an interview with billy and he said James used it on the solo on Zero.

  • never mind they are talking about the guitar effects, so I think I am right.

  • They couldn't have possibly used a digitech.

Digitechs are shit. I had one when I was 12.

  • Dude I read an interview, they used digitech's whammy pedal aka the only thing digitech has ever done right.

  • LOL!

  • what exactly is that effect he is using, they dont use it on the album version. I mean it is so cool, possible the coolest sounding effect ive heard out of them.

  • it remembers me the old school :D

  • fo rizzle?

  • Yes....fo rizzle

  • the titest thing about this i think is how they both do the solo at the same time

  • this is truly a kick ass version

  • for some reason the kid nodding his head with the yellow beanie in the crowd annoys me a great deal

  • yeah me to! I think it's because you don't see him lika a pumpkin faan, he looks more like a skater/hiphoper/rap digging kind xD

  • it was the 90s, every one wore beanies, and whats wrong with a skater liking the pumpkins, he does look like a fag though

  • FORZA BITCHES

    TERROR IN THE WORLD
