Has this dude actually READ the bible? The bible is VERY pro-slavery, it even says you can beat your slave as long as he lives for a couple days afterwords. And you may wish to check out how slavery worked back then. It's not the Black slaves in prison ships or peasent women abused by lords and knights.
Many people would choose slavery to a rich family as they were clothed, fed and watered, given an education, and some given a modest wage which over time would allow them to buy their freedom once more.
