Daniel, this is my favorite song of all time... You did a kick ass job... Original and made it your own. I've got a vhs copy of performing this song with the late great Johnny Fortune but can't get it on to digital so I did a a version with a backing track.

I haven't heard any of Ricky's old stuff in years. I grew up watching him evolve on the "Ozzie and Harriet" TV show in the 50's. He was an excellent song writer even as a teenager. You nailed this one.

My mistake. He didn't write this. A guy named Baker Knight wrote it. In fact, he wrote 21 songs for Nelson. So, maybe he wasn't a great song writer after all. Without the song writer nobody would have any reason to listen to the singer. The writers deserve more recognition.
