im looking to build an ultralight soon and i was wondering what a cheap reliable and easy to fly one would be.......i was hoping to a hand controlled one like this and not a weight shift could anyone tell me a type. thanks
Thats what im talkin bout right there....wonderful video and a wonderful papa.. plus a young ladie thats well on her way to suceed in any task she takes on in her journey in life... congrats to you sir for your willingness to teach the younger generation..my hat is off to you both
One of the best videos ive seen on Youtube. What a great bonding experience, with your granddaughter. Some of my best memories of childhood were with my grandpa teaching me to fish. She is very fortunate to have you in her life, and what a smart little girl she is! Shes going to be so much better in life because of this. Man, I want to go on an ultralight, that looks like soo much fun too! Be safe!

viewed the video on 11/07/10, I clapped just before you did upon seeing her perform this amazing feat. I have a Quick 2S and will teach my 9 yr. old niece.
On You Tube type-in Low Flying Quicksilver, 3 vids.
What a GREAT grandad ! and what a sweet little girl. She clearly adores you ! I think this is a fantastic way to teach kids so many things. When shes at school and her friends say " hey i got to the next level on Xbox " she can say.. Well i just dd my 5 landing and circut in my grandads plane and i`m getting pretty good !!! Thanks mate
That is awesome. Im really glad i found this video. I just soloed on 7/30/09 in a quicksilver mx but im 37 lol. I wish i could get my 15 year old interested in planes. I have a 4 year old that is really interested and i hope someday he will want to learn to fly. You did great work with her teaching her to fly especially by using hand signals.. Maybe shell be flying to OshKosh by the time shes 15. :-)
BustedBuzzard: Thanks again for all the comments and messages I have received. I plan on working with the kids so that by their 13th birthday they will be flying the ultralight solo!
Positives: A grandpa that had 1 on 1, teaching his granddaughter how to fly, she can only be so fortunate and lucky to have that influence in her life. This is building her character, confidence, she can look at others and know she is unique!
Negatives: Obama
How short is our memory? How do we make this mistake again? Does grandpa get to fly his granddaughter around in his MX? They legalize abortion, medical pot, gay marrage, yet grandpa has to register is MX as light sport! ???????
BustedBuzzard: I hold a private pilot license. This MX2 was registered experimental amateur built in 1984 and has a current air worthiness inspection. Thank you all for your comments.
This ROCKS.. Way to go, giving her an opportunity to learn to fly at such a young age. Not enough stars to rate this one. The best I have seen in a long long time too. Keep the videos of her flying rolling in.
This is a great video!!! My little girl is 2 yrs. old and I can't get her out of the seat of my single place Sprint...... looks like I'll have to buy a two place. Thank you for sharing that video and may God bless that little girl's every flight!!!! She is our future.
This is my little girl. My dad aka "BustedBuzzard" has been teaching her to fly his ultralight. I am very proud of her. This video was taken yesterday. She is doing everything on her own!
Very well done !!

And is it possible they would be able to fly solo, cause everytime you get out of the plane, the nose wheel rises?
s030141 2 years ago
hey BustedBuzzard, what country do you live in because in Australia, a student cannot fly solo until they have reached the age of 15. Good flying :)
