Speaking of shmups, I just made the most expensive shmup purchase for PCE. I bought Sylphia SCD for $165. But i sold bunch of other games for it, as i wanted it for a long time. It's made by complie i heard.
Love this game, its what makes the TG-16 for me, BTW God help you if you die or get hit on later levels, and shields will save your ass if you dont get hit most of the time, so theyre around when you need em, and lol you WILL need them at points. If you dont get hit, the shield powerups usually can keep you shielded thru almost the whole level, yet somehow they run out at boss time.....when you need em most....lol
This game has two hidden menus. Hold "select" and press I and II rapidly and you'll be taken to a difficulty menu. Repeat the trick and you can try "God of Game." You WILL be owned. There is also a debug mode and soundtest; you can access a mini game, "area 0" and others, one setting even makes you invincible.
I use the TG-16 button names, I have the actual card.:)
Ah yes, Blazing Lazers, this was the game that introduced me to TG16 so many years ago. The graphics, music, various weapons, the huge bosses, and the feel of speed...it felt like you were playing an arcade game.
First play, it was really hard especially the final stage and then I realized the best weapon setup. Max'd Weapon I + Homing Missiles.
Think this game is easy? Try playing this on the God of the Game mode from the secret difficuty select code. Hold Select and press II, I, II, I during the intro.
I meant II, I repeatedly until the screen comes up. There is only NORMAL DOG and HARD HUMAN. For SUPER MANIA, to the same trick you did to open up the menu while HARD HUMAN is selected and for GOD OF THE GAME, ditto when SUPER MANIA is selected.
I am sure you knew this but I want to point this out to everyone else who don't.

One of my favorite TG-16 games. I just picked up a TG-16 yesterday with this game and a few others. I had a TG-16 when it first came out in 1989.
My favorites are Blazing Lazers, Alien Crush, Galaga 90, Military Madness, Dungeon Explorer, and Legendary Axe.

Yeah, those are some favourites too. Congrats on getting the Turbo back, I really think it's a underrated system.

Yeah, stages 7, 8, and 9 were pretty damn brutal and Shields becomes a lifesaver.

Yeah, back in 1989 this was the shit and I had to get the Turbo after seeing this in action! I'll have to try that weapon combo there too.

Yeah, that helps make it more difficult but the ending still makes no sense. Just the music changes.
