Such a cute card! I am getting ready to make invitations for my son's first birthday and just ordered the Cricut Expression. I am trying to figure out what will look cutest on paper and for the cake I am making. I am doing a "little sailor" theme with whales, sailboats, and anchors. I have already sketched up the cake I am going to do, but am at a total loss as to what to do for the invitations. Any suggestions?

This time it was a complete Hello Kitty Theme. There is an adorable whale on the create a critter cartridge. The same cartridge I used for this card! Live's a beach also has some fun items that would fit that theme. If you are using the whale you could use the Pun.. You are invited for a whale of a time!

@housewifeconfession I am thinking about saying something to the effect of "we will have a whale of a good time" but my conflict is I am going to be only topping my 2 tier cake with a whale, but will be doing sailboats on the 1st teir and anchors and my son's monogramm on the second/top teir. I cant decide which (sailboat or whale) is worthy of being the spotlight of the card?! oh goodness, so much to decide! I want it to be a sailor theme and not just a whale theme. does that make sense?

Your card turned out really cute. My three year old Grandaughter said that she wants me to make her this monkey for her next birthday.But said she wants her monkey black or pink. Good idea to have the monkey hold something. I was going to have the monkey I make hold balloons. Thanks for sharing !! :0)

this card is adorable! I want to make it, I wish I had girls haha, but I have boys! I suppose you could change the colors and it would be fine for a boy lol
