This maybe random, but this makes me think of Christipher columbus...why is there a frickin holiday for him?!? He killed thousands of native americans. Plus, the vikings (my ppl) were here first. I am sorry but I hate him along with rasputan.
Ha, this is great. I absolutely love the movie, but as fiction. I love the real story as well. I don't like that some people believe disney's version is accurate, or don't even know Pocahontas was real to begin with. The more people that know the truth the better, because then they can appreciate her existance all the more while still enjoying the Disney film. As a fiction. Thank you for making this, I learned a few things, can't get enough of the Pocahontas nonfiction story! :)
i dont think that what happen cause i know that she had a son and died before she made it back to her home land she did die of small pots. i know this cause i am related to her i seen my family tree and she was there with john ralfe and her son who married some latter then had kids and so on then i am here.
I know what the video says is true but you have to let space for fantasy and romance man! John Smith and Pocahota's love myth is one that has been going around since practically ever!! though yes they were never related but is nice to imagine it, its a good fairy tale.... and besides is quite depressing knowing that she died so young and suddenly in her first trip to England
well yes that's a good debate. but why adapt Pocahontas history out of all the potential creations they could've come up with originally as well hm? ; )
nevertheless, Pocahontas is still a wonderful classic. First or second movie. It still remains as a wonderful fairytale in many people's hearts. And yes, that includes adults etc. (:

The Brtish deliberately infected my people with blankets laced with smallpox.
There were no such thing as decease in America until European arrived here.
60 million Natives reduced to 800,000...WFT? That makes the Jewish Holocaust look like a carnival.

I think it would have been better to at least keep to the fact that Pocahontas was a kid when she met John...
It would have been inspiring, they could have at least pulled the, 'even a kid can make a difference' and the kids could relate. :P

SweetyMeAngel 3 years ago
I don't know about the poison thing, but she did become a Christian. She changed her name to Rebecca and I think she died in England.
